This thread was derailed pretty fast. OP do you want all the air bags disabled with a switch or just the driver's side? It would be pretty easy to install a kill switch for them.

Yep all the Calitards move into Utah hence they become Utards

I really wanted to go to the coast but it is just too damn expensive. I would take it I can thank the calitards for that? So I got a place outside of Nyssa that has just under 100 acres. Its one the far eastern edge of Oregon. Oh well just glad to get out of the land of the lord and all his crazies.

    I don't get it.

Tards cry about California being a liberal nanny state, move out, and become Calitards and try to turn their new home into what they left behind.
I think it's a plot by the inhabitants of the coastal counties.

Once upon a time my wife had a Tercel with airbags and Toyota sent out a postcard advising owners that airbags deploying from a head-on collision could kill drivers who sit too close to the steering wheel. My wife is 4'11" so we took the postcard to the dealership to have the airbag disabled. They refused because without the airbag the driver might be killed in a head-on collision. Um...... After a stop at RadioShack on the way home, I soldered in a kill switch. I was more mechanically inept than I am now and it took an hour.

People that pay a half a million for studio apartments with no land? Come on. That is retarded.

Plus they are sucking up all the water in the west when they have this little ocean called the Pacific at their door that they could utilize. Duh.

I only paid $90k for 1100sq/ft with a garage and a small back yard. Value peaked at $350k, dropped back to $90k, and now it's at about $170k
I'm only 40 miles away from downtown LA.

i paid 200k for 1800sqft on 1/2 acre up in the mountains. the desert is crazy cheap! my buddy bought a 2400sqft house on 1/2 acre for $150k. i always tell my friends who hate on CA that unless you actually live here, stfu you dont know. its NOT that bad. unless... you want an oceanfront house in malibu or something. dont just assume it is bad when youve never even visited the state. most of this shit is farmland and state/national parks anyways!

And that is the whole problem. They are NOT thinking ahead. Instead of trying to solve the problem they just cause more problems in other places. Plus to boot they want to steal the water from the 2 driest states in the US. Nevada and Utah. Take for instance the talks about using some underground aquifers in South-western Utah to send to the west. That would just suck Utah's desert even drier. And look what cali's greed has already done to places like Mono lake and especially Owens lake. Read about it here. http://www.allgov.com/usa/ca/news/c...its-owens-lake-restoration-130503?news=849919

I think this thread should win the award for "most derailed, off subject". Since it's already way off the OP, my wife may be applying for a job out in the Napa valley area so we are already (mainly just for fun right now, we're at least 2 or 3 years away from actually moving) looking at house prices. Any suggestions for low priced areas in or around Napa? We're thinking in the $250,000 and under range if that helps.

There is the issue right there. When people start thinking that 250K is in the low range at all.

Most of Utah can't get the water from the big rivers that hit the southern corner, the Green River out of Wyoming and the Colorado River out of Colorado. You have water rights on them, but no way to get the water to population centers. Can't even get agriculture out of those rivers since the terrain is not suited to it.

And the entire population of the UAE... not just Dubai, but the entire collection of states... is less than the population of Los Angeles County.
Add to that, the UAE is swimming in money from oil.
California COULD be in much better shape if the tards would get out of the way, but even if they pull all of the oil out of the conshelf, we aren't going to be another UAE.

The "low range" out here will buy 3000sq/ft just a few miles outside of Austin, and even more in most parts of the country.

My parents bought a very nice house in Cedar Park... maybe 2500sq/ft on 1/4 acre, during the high housing market in '06... paid CASH using what they sold their Doublewide and space for.

    Yup.

Manatee County Florida has a job listing for my boss's job.

Starting pay is below were I'm at now, top scale is about 30% less than his top scale... AND they expect the applicant to have a valid PE.

My city doesn't even require a PE of their assistant engineers. You don't need the PE until you hit Associate Engineer.

Around here you can get an extremely nice house for 250K.

I remember many years ago ( 1989 or so ) I spent some time in Sunnyvale CA. Just for fun we were looking at some realtor magazines and what they were selling for 700K to 800K ( 2 BR 1.5 Bath, 900 Sqft and looked like an old meth lab ) would be a fixer upper here and would go for <50K.
