My 05 has never shaken above 75 mph, not on the worn out Dungflops or on its new A/T tires. I call bullshit on the dealership saying they all shake above 75 mph. It sounds like they were trying to placate you without offering a solution.

Have they tried shimming the cb down? Mine had a shake at 10, 20-30, 55-65. Not saying it is your issue since you're stock height but 3 mm worth of washers between cb and mount made a night and day difference for me. All my shaking is completely gone and just have a small vibration at 10. Most likely one less or more washers would fix mine 100% then I could just order the right sized spacer and be done.

that wont tell you much, if anything. youre looking to possibly eliminate the part causing the shudder from your driveline completely.. meaning it should run smooth as a top without the offending part still installed, whichever it may be.. driveshaft piece #1,#2, or the carrier bearing. if it still shudders with the driveshaft removed, i would look into tire balance or alignment. since its not shaking through the pedal or steering wheel so its not warped rotors up front or worn/bent tierods up front. i mean, really.. every time you can say its not this.. youre narrowing down what it could be. in my mind.. you have no choice but to remove the driveshafts if you really want to figure it out.

its not difficult to take out a driveshaft. usually four bolts.. i think on my last truck it was four 14mm bolts and nuts on both sides. i havent done any work on a second gen but it shouldnt take more than a few minutes. if youre not familiar with it or uncomfortable with it.. and youre not getting any reliable help from the dealership, maybe post in the regional forums for a good samaritan to give you a hand. people usually respond well to bribes of beer and food.

2nd gen is 4 14 mm at rear flange. 4 14 mm at front flange. 2 17 mm at carrier bearing

I had the dealership look at this for the 3rd time and they say they have the same issue with 3 other Tacomas all 2014 models. Can anyone chime in and say that they have experienced this issue with their 2013 or 14 model? They are saying it is normal characteristics of the truck. My 2006 did not have any vibration at high speeds. Thanks.

That's horse crap. They'll keep saying they can't replicate the problem until your out of warranty. Ride with them, point it out to them.

@Panzer: Are you by any chance testing the truck over the same section of the highway? Try a different section with different roughness.

    • What tire pressures are you running? Make sure they are not overinflated with the recent warming.
    • Toe alignment?
    • Rear leaf spring U-bolts undertorqued (should be min 73 ft-lb, some trucks are torqued to ~37 ft-lb from the factory)?
    • Tried swapping tires front to back and left to right?

Go to another dealer, and ride with a mechanic so he can witness the shaking.

After visiting the stealership 3 times , I think you have a better chance nailing the issue on your own . Its unfortunate but seems the only way your going to get this fixed as many many other members have had to do .
Process of elimination is the only way to figure this out .
Start by removing the rear driveshaft and going for a ride as others have mentioned and report back if the vibe is gone .
This will give you a base line to work with

I have a new 2020 Sport 2WD and it has a small vibration at and above 80. I have 4900 miles on it. I am taking it in on Saturday for the 5K service and, planning on bringing this up.
