265/70/17 BFG RT's, FJ 17" rims with 1.25" spidertraxx Debadged, HID's, URD short shifter, Bilstein 5100's in the front, TSB and 1" block rear, URD TCAI with maf calibrator, JBL long tubes, DT Y pipe, Gibson exhaust, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Pioneer stereo, Bak flip G2 tonneau, TRD skid plate, MB Quarts all around with dynomat, Viper Alarm with motion sensor
I currently have the BFG All-Terrain's at 265/75/16. It's almost time for me to get some new tires. I hardly go off - roading, maybe like 3 to 5 times a year. Looking for a good highway tire with keeping g an aggressive look and a little less pricey. Thinking about the BFG rugged terrains. What are your opinions?

I am in the same boat, just trying to decide what I want to get. I've been looking at the Duratracs and have heard mixed reviews. I had the Hankook Dynapro ATM's on my last truck. They were a great tire and may go back to them.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I would definitely look at the AT3.

i put silent armors on my 4runner before i left. they werent noisy and didnt drag down my gas mileage but were still pretty meaty and effective offroad and in the snow.

i laughed at the salesman when he told me it had kevlar in it and was resistant to punctures. news flash.. kevlar isnt really effective against sharp pointy things.

so far its been a pretty good all around tire for not much money. i think i paid $750 after install.

I usually get my tires from Discount tire by checking them out first through their online store: www.discounttiredirect.com
The stores can match any web discounts and usually free shipping. If you are looking mainly for street driven tires, the P-rated tires will give the smoothest ride due to softer sidewalls. LT tires will be stiffer, better for offroad and load capacity. I ran the P-rated Hankook Dynapro ATMs and loved them. Very smooth with a nice tread design. I currently ugraded to 33's LT Terra Grapplers and really liked them. A tad stiffer but still smooth. Avoid the Discount line of Falken Rocky Mountains, I returned those for the TGs after 2 wks. Those were rough and had vibes. I have those also on my Jeep TJ (from PO) and can't wait to get rid of them for same issues. What I like about DT is the lifetime rotate / balancing and the 30 days to return them if you don't like them.

I usually go to discount tire. So, stay away from their brand? I really like the eBay price but I pretty much need them mounted.

I just picked up a set of Hankook's from Discount tire direct for $129 each shipped in size 265/75-16. They price matched a website called 'tire crazy' for me to get them at that price. I was also looking at the Coopers referenced above but price was the deciding factor for me to go with the Hankook's.

Falken isn't just their discount brand, its just A discount brand. My local shop peddles them to me every time I go in for a rotation, most shops try to sell them because they get them dirt cheap and they're still off road tires. I was suckered when I first bought my pickup.

heed the advice. I hate them. there's some superficial tread that wears out after some hard street corners. then they turn into street tires after 10k.

I'd stick with BFG's or go with Coopers or DuraTracs. all great tires.
