Alright, I admit this sounds a little stupid but I bought my truck used and it had an aftermarket knob and what not on it already. I'm just curious if there's a way to tell if it has a short throw shifter in it already or not. The only other manual Toyota I've ever owned was my old '92 4Runner. It's shorter than that one but I've never been able to compare it to another Tacoma. Any help would be appreciated. :)

The stock shifter is approx 12 inches long. A short shifter would definitely be shorter

Before I put my short throw shifter in, pulling it into 2nd would knock over a 500ml water bottle in the little cup holder top left. After, no more spills:D

My short shifter is not much lower, the point of a short shifter is to decrease the length of throws not the height if the shifter.

It is very hard to see if you have the SS kit unless you pull the whole thing apart.

I ordered a URD short shifter for mine. I'm hoping that this avoids that cup holder as well. Gets annoying when it whacks my can of rockstar :D
