So I have been doing some research for building my crawl box. Can anyone give me a reason to buy the Trail gear 23 spline input over the marlin? They are similarly priced, but I am thinking "total spline" has got me sold.

Any failures or issues with either product? What are you guys using?

I'm looking to put double cases in my truck, but it's a v6 and I need the 23 spline input.

I have been doing some searching but can't find anything concrete, except a bunch of arguing on Pirate.

I vote marlin crawler. They are the originators, they are a small company with great service, and Marlin is the coolest fuckin guy.

Oh, one is MIC, one is MIA. I'll let you figure out which is which.

I have been on pirate for a long time, just looking for some info on guys running them behind a V6 tacoma. All things considered, looks like Marlin is the way to go.

    Thanks for the quick info.

    Anyone have first hand experience?

I have the total spline input from Marlin. Granted I have these installed in an 85. I ended up making the decision for 2 major reasons: Marlin is a great guy who started a reputable, well respected company and the Total spline input.

there are some good comparisons on the Marlin site with the comparable dimensions.

Here is a pic of a stocker compared to the Total Spline 23 from Marlin

My vote is the MC kit, I have it and no problems yet. I also have a Longfield chromo 23 spline output shaft after I broke a stock 23 spline output.
