Morning Lady and Gents. Welcome Rik. Pull up a keyboard and stay awhile.

We have a big surprise party this evening for our oldest daughter, Sarah, who turns 29 today. Sarah and her friend are coming over for dinner tonight for what Sarah believes is a small family dinner gathering including our youngest daughter Juliane. In reality, there will be 35 people hiding in the living room when Sarah arrives at 5:30. These folks include many of her cousins (on my wife's side of the family), uncles and aunts (also on my wife's side), and friends and neighbours. Everybody is bringing a different dish and we will provide roast chicken and roast pork. Should be a great evening as Sarah does not suspect a thing. Love my two beautiful daughters.:proposetoast::woot:

Unfortunately, my surviving siblings (two younger brothers and an older sister) and their families live in western Canada or overseas (e.g., Australia) and will not be here.

Hi Doc, my daughter-in-law is throwing a surprise 40th birthday party for my son. Time does fly doesn't it. Here is a picture of him at 2 1/2 :D, he was smiling because I gave him a sip of beer in his Bud cup:)

Welcome to the "old-fart" zoo Rik. I've decided that these folks are a combination of informative, funny, sentimental, friendly, etc.. Great bunch of very experienced folks. Put your seat belt on!

Just got back from the gliding club on a "ain't gonna be a flying day". Needed to drop off some stuff, inspect a club glider for radio installation, and attempt to locate a couple of tools I left behind last weekend in the mad rush.

Got lucky .... there they were sitting on a plastic tub right where I obviously left them. Gotta tell you .... I got more exited than a blind poofter in a weenie factory. :):):):)

    x2 Doc

Hope all of you have a wonderful celebration and she is surprised. :)

You should take a few pics and maybe a couple video clips to send to your siblings. With the military career and then settling up here, we've lived far from family outside our immediate for years. That's one of the nice things about the technology these days. When I did remote tours the first two thirds of my career we didn't have internet chat and cell phones; that would have been nice and sure beats mailing video tapes and once a week morale calls on scratchy, tin-canny overseas autovon lines. Sorry Doc, didn't mean to ramble down memory lane on you.

Enjoy the day my friend. :)

    That's a great pic Ken. :D

:anonymous: I've been calling it "Sometimers" for years ... "Mad rush", mind if I use that occasionally? ;)

    How ya' doin' Tex?

NO; I didn't wake up to piss! :D Ready to head out to the lake, and walk about a half mile over the ice, in the dark, and catch no fish.
The guys I fish with are nuts, it's still the middle of the night, I didn't get up this darn early to go to work! Gotta go!!!!!

    Me too.
Got invited to go so I packed last night.
Haven't been in about 6 years.
    Should be an interesting day.
    Good luck.
I have never caught anything through the ice in like forever. But I guess once every 6 years gives a bad ratio hehehe.
I get up this early TO PISS and head out the door to WORK.
    Wa wa wa wa....
Suck it up and have fun Carl

Morning Carl, a friend told me a joke and the first person that popped to mind was you. It's better to hear it in person, but here goes anyway:
"An old retiree(Carl?) goes ice fishing. Finds a spot, puts in his hole gets comfy and after an hour -NOTHING:eek: so he moves to another spot. After getting comfy again he sits there and not even a nibble:(...a young lad comes along puts in his hole ,drops his line and within 2 minutes has his first fish. Every time the old guy looks over, the youngster is pulling up another fish:D. The old guy goes over and asks the youngster what his trick is to catching all the fish:rolleyes:...the youngster mumbles something the old guy doesn't understand:confused:...after the youngster mumbling his answer 3 times and the old guy saying "WHAT?" the youngster spits a wad into his hand, holds it out to the old guy and says, "You gotta keep the worms warm":D...

    Think that might help Carl:rofl::rofl:
