Have you guys thought about getting the sliders galvanized? Mid Pacific Steel is the only listing I could find in Hawaii.

Read this thread from the start. Galvanize is not recommended. I asked the same thing.

I wish I've signed up earlier then I would have joined in. Looks like I missed out! I'm looking to ordering sliders from BAMF. Do the bolt on sliders bolt to the factory holes or is drilling required? Thanks!

Drilling required. Factory holes from the OEM steps it does not use them it attaches to the frame of the truck and there holes to put bolts thru.

Correct me if I'm wrong. If you want to actually use the sliders as sliders (or hi-lift point) then yes, you need to drill the bottom and attach the bottom plate points. If you're just using as steps then there are a couple holes in the frame where the sliders attach and are strong enough as a step.

Thanks. I really like the look of these sliders but I'm trying to avoid drilling if possible.

Again, if you want to slide or lift then you either have to drill a couple holes or weld.. If you just like the looks to sliders but will not be doing any hardcore off-roading then you will not need to drill anything..

The only "real" reason why I'm gonna drill mine to to use as a hi-lift point.. No hardcore off-roading for me..

Thanks for the info everyone . I don't plan on doing any hardcore off roading. I like the looks of the sliders but just plan to use it as a step and stop other doors from banging my truck.:D

Yea.... Not sure how much "door" protection there is, but N-Fab recently came out with I think something called "rock rails". It has a removable step for when you do go a bit off-road so the step doesn't get hung-up. That mounts to the regular body mounts like the factory steps. May be an option, but I like the look of real sliders.

Those rock rails look pretty good. I like it that the step can be removed, I'll have to look into that. Sliders have that nice clean look that I like!

Haven't seen the NFab set up, but they won't hold up as rock rails. BeefedTaco makes some tube steps that bolt onto actual sliders. My wife's truck has a set installed and i have a set for my truck, once I have sliders again...

::two thumbs up:: surf808 sounded like he was looking for removable steps - Just letting him know the options if he wants actual sliders and removable steps.
