33/12.5/17's on a 3 inch lift HELP!!!

Hey guys I'm looking at getting a 3 inch lift (Icon front coilovers, Icon UCA, Icon Rear Resivoirs, and a Dakar Leaf pack. Thats going to cost some $$$$. So I really will only have enough money to get the Rubber and I'll keep my stock Rims for a while. I want to put 33/12.5/17's on. I know I'll have to do Trimming. But Should this in Theory work? Will I need any other parts?? Please Help with your info I have an 06 TRD Sport Double Cab long box. Cheers.!

What do you mean by spacers?? And where do they go? Do you have a link to any?

 

Wheel spacers go on the hub, between the wheel and the rotors.

Here are some Spidertrax spacers, a recommended name for spacers.

I just went through the same situation. If you're wanting to run the 285/70/17's, you will most definitely need the Spidertrax so the tires do not rub on the UCA's. If you go with spacers other than Spidertrax, make sure they are hub centric. Good luck!

If you are unable to replace your factory rims, then the Spidertrax are the best way to go, as they are specifically made for our trucks. Most other machined spacers/adapters are lug centric, which can cause bad vibrations. The Spidertrax are also coated so they are resistant to corrosion.

Since these bolt on to your factory studs and then provide new studs for the rim, you always run the risk of them breaking, though I have only heard excellent things about Spidertrax (and a lot of people on TW use them). Hope this helps some!

 

Do all 4 wheels need the spidertrax? Wheres the best place to buy them? Does anyone know of anyone who's running 33's on a 3 inch lift? That I could talk too. It would really help. Or are 33's just too big and I have no choice but to go with the 285's. If I did go with the 285's would I still need the spidertrax??

 

285/70/17 are 33"s, and I am currently running this size with a 3" suspension lift and stock UCAs (for the time being). The Spidertrax will push the wheel/tire out 1.25", so they are needed for the front, but most people do all 4 so it's uniform. You can buy them at spidertrax.com. If you want, feel free to PM me!

 

I don't think you can put a 12.5" width tire on stock wheels. They're too wide and probably not the safest thing.
