i have total chaos solid motor and trans mounts, and recently plated my cab to cage. my girlfriend laughs every time i start it cause the dash rattles like nobodys business. however a few shims and it will be better...
however i actually like it... other than the annoying sounds i havnt fixed yet, it makes you feel really in tune with the drive train and drives great.

    seperately...
best place to go camping local to sb.... GO!!
would like to take the truck and camp somewhere off the beaten path. is camping allowed up at west?.. (with an adventure pass of course), or are the hot springs worth checking out? would like to be isolated instead of camping with a bunch of strangers at a site.
also i'm assuming there are no fires allowed currently... correct?

I think camping at west is just like going shooting at west lol u know of seeing a ranger up there are pretty much non existent. I know every time I have gone I have never seen one up there has anyone ever seen a ranger actually in the dirt?

There's campsites near the hot springs, that are more isolated than most campgrounds. El capitan is nice if you don't mind it being an actual campground that will have others nearby.

Camping at west would probably be okay but I don't like the idea that ranger could show up and shut you down even if it is a small chance.

Oh man that looks like fun. I have been a firearms "enthusiast" since Moses was in short pants:) I have a pretty good collection, but have not been shooting in a couple of years even though I am a member of the Winchester Gun club. I am also a certified Range Officer and Pistol Safety Instructor. I need to start getting to the range more but have some physical limitations that make it a hard trip.
    Anyway, cool place!

thanks for all the recommendations everyone! i'll check them out. i'm down to drive wherever, either take her car and hike to a spot, or take my truck and still do some hiking but camp near it

i've seen a ranger there and on a seperate occasion a bunch of sheriff. but i agree its pretty unlikely, i was thinking about just pitching a tent at the top of that really gnarly 4wd decent

So what's everyones opinion on the huckfest situation? I think this year will make or break them. And the price jump was rediculous

no, huckfest is technically renting out that portion of the beach (dunes) for that time period. Youll still have to pay at the front entrance if youre driving in. Just wont be state parks (i dont think) itll be someone else.

Ya I think it's rediculous that they are closing the beach entirely for Wed and thurs what about the people driving from far away? It couldn't take that long to set up some fence. I can understand raising the prices beyond state prices but it was a rediculous jump I'd say $20 for a day pass and maybe 40-45 for camping but if they are charging that much for camping they should be providing entertainment at night as well doesn't make sense to charge that much more just to be there a day earlier without them providing anything for the huge price difference

do you want to drive a couple hundred stakes into the ground? its harder than you think..

like you mentioned i think camping is a little pricey though.. i wouldve like it if it were about 60 bucks a night and maybe 25 for a day pass.

It's only sand lol but Ya I get that it can be tough but if u get a few teams working on it shouldn't take too long. I would be willing to come drive steaks into the ground if it ment lowering the prices for everyone
