I know that Jesus died for me on the cross. We were all born with a disease, the depravity of Adam's sin but Jesus washed us clean. In the natural I am an arrogant adulterous person whose only concern is himself, but He taught me what love really is. I've learned my identity isn't found in the job i work, the clothes i wear, the car i drive, my identity is found in CHRIST. Before I didn't live I merely existed now I live because Jesus came to give life and give it abundantly. I believe if I were the only person who would be saved by His death on the cross He still would have died for me and He would do the same for you too. All other religions have a god that makes you earn your way into heaven, but my God says you are saved by grace. Other gods want you to die to worthy to meet them in heaven, but Jesus was God and came to die for YOU! I used to persecute God and I wasn't even aware that I was His enemy. Now I know God hates sin, but He loves the sinner. The bible isn't a book of tall tales for children its His living word that is your sword to fight the attacks of the enemy. I cannot stress to you the fact that YOU are still not too far off, you haven't been condemned, and you are not lacking of anything. Jesus wants to come into your heart and be the center of your life and take away all your "somethings" and make you brand new. If you really want a clean start please PM me, I do not claim to have the power to change you. It's the grace of God that can start a new marvelous work in you I just want to introduce you to Him.

Born and raised Protestant... attended Baptist, Methodist, and Assemblies of God denominations. I pay more attention to the overall message though then focusing on the various dogmatic beliefs and seeing where I fit in. I've attended other religious services (not just Catholic) and felt enlightened at times.

Christian. But here's something Pascal wrote that I thought was kinda cool: " If you believe in GOD, GOD exists. If not, then HE doesn't."

So true. That's why you have to "believe"! I see so many on TW that use the word "logical", etc. to attempt to explain why they are agnostic, etc. I personally don't think it has anything to do with logic, it's a belief in something that can help explain the unexplainable, give comfort when the answers are not apparent, and guide you on a path when no other is visible.

As a young child I was raised Presbyterian and then went to a Catholic primary school for a while. After that my family moved to Texas and joined a Southern Baptist church. Finally, in my teens, we attended Methodist services. The wide ranges of often contradictory beliefs I was exposed to through those four channels really caused me to step back and question whether I actually believed any of them. After years of consideration I came to the personal understanding that I don't have faith in the traditional sense.

Do I believe a supreme being(s) exist? No. Can I disprove this existence? No. Can anyone prove one exists? In my opinion, no. I do not outright deny the possible existence of divinity as I lack any evidence to do so. However, repeated attempts to convince me of that existence have had little effect. Arguments affirming the existence of God (or any other deity) flow from a conviction or faith whereas my arguments stem from my lack thereof. The two sources have no common ground, canceling each other as if they were fields of opposite polarity.

Labeling my philosophical view has never been on of my concerns but I guess it could best be described as Agnosticism or perhaps Ignosticism with a healthy dose of disillusionment thrown in from my childhood.

Many people whose views are similar to mine are disdainful of those who have faith. I can't abide by that view and feel the same inherent privilege I have to make my own choices should be universal. Honestly I enjoy long in-depth conversations about divinity and religion as I find it fascinating but ultimately something in which I cannot directly participate while being true to myself.

    Paganism is not a religion.

In and of itself, not usually, but it is a blanket term that covers all of the religions that are considered non-Christian, and not all Pagans necessarily list themselves as a specific Pagan religion (like Wicca for example), so Pagan is used to indicate a non-Christian or a person who has a set of beliefs based on various mutualy understood ideas without having to list a particular label, and therefore, it's actually becoming more widely used as a specific religion by some in the Pagan community who do not subscribe to any of the particular religion, but rather a mix. It can be rather confusing. :)

    I'm all agnostic n stuff.

Though I admit to having a healthy skepticism and leaning more away from religion than towards.
