You stay out of my stash. You have plenty of sheds on the dark side of the state. :D

Private property shed hunting is no bueno jonnie. Some states have laws for shed hunting and pushing it with private prop will surely end negatively :( db.

Wiring something like that is simple. Hardest part is deciding whether you want it controlled by a switch, or come on with other lights. I would think a switch would be best but that is me. Get a basic rocker switch or 12v normally open relay. Run a fused line from the positive of battery to switch or relay, and from there to the light. If you want it to come on with other lights, use a vampire tap to pull power to the coil of the relay. Run a line from the other side of the coil to a ground point or negative on battery. Same for the light bar. Done.

The switch I have has an independent light and a dependant light. I purchased a wiring harness with the led bar that has a cheapo on/off switch on it and it's hooked straight to the battery with an Inline fuse and relay. I'd like to have the lights come on with the dash and then the independent light come on when the bar is turned on. I'm skeered of cutting into wires

Here is how I wired mine up. Only had to splice 1 wire per switch.

Oh yeah. Also I have these wired so I can turn the lights on without the truck being on (directly to battery). The lower light of the OTRATTW turns on with the running lights. The top of the switch only turns on when the light is activated

I have a concern with that wiring diagram Mitch. As an electrician for a living, I am telling you that 12 gauge wire is only rated for 20 amps, and you have a 35 amp fuse on it. 10 gauge is 30 amp rated, 8 gauge is 40 amp. I would say either spend some extra money on bigger wire, or downsize the fuse from 35 to 20 amp. If you use #10 wiring, it will still fit inside yellow crimps. #8 will not fit the yellow.

I hate to argue with a subject matter expert but it has been my experience that the "rule of thumb" does not hold true for 12VDC. I wire in a lot of Uninterruptible Power Supplies.

Where did you put your grounds out? Tap into other ground wires? And what about the "incoming source"? In your case is that connected to the battery? If you tap into the truck battery as the incoming source wouldn't the dependent light always be on? That's how it is with this harness that I got with the led bar. I can turn it on/off without the truck being on because it's connected straight to the battery but the light on the button switch always stays on because of it.

Appreciate the help guys. I'm thinking i'll pick up some of those wire crimps and use those to tap into wires as I'm afraid to cut them.
