I am not sure who told you that you can spot turn fat to muscle... But that is not a bodily process that happens I am sad to report. Fat never actually goes away (outside of lipo), but the fat containing cells instead shrink. The whole thing about leaning out is that for most guys it comes off of your midsection the very last when you are cutting body fat. I am planning on my first real cut here this summer and have almost always been somewhat lean, but never had a tight midsection. They say that you will feel like you are deflating initially, but once the bf% comes down far enough the definition will start to show itself.

My ex said the same shit, but it's kind of hard trying to rape a sasquatch....not that I have any insight on that.

Right....back to the topic we're all subscribed to.

I've got no idea. I know people who hit abs every day and don't have them. I've always heard it's simply lowering the overall bodyfat.

x2. Ever since I'v started putting on good mass, I've never followed through with a cut. I get about half way through it say, "fuck it." I just can't watch my gains and strength wither away.

    hahaha

I keep my little baby Taurus .380 hidden away everywhere I go....except school. GA law doesn't allow college kids to carry. I travel to Atlanta for school twice a week and that's the place I need it most! That's a different debate though lol

I'm 230 now which is quite a bit bigger than I have ever been before. My rationale is why am I putting on all of this mass and spending a small fortune on food if I am never gonna cut down and see what I am working with? However, I understand that some people just want to be "big". I prefer the leaner look, but certainly don't want to look like skeletor either.

that's my problem. I'f I get too lean too quickly, I lose a lot of muscle. I'm naturally lean. The most body fat I've ever had is around 16% and I'm around 12-13% now. I've been as low as 9%, but lost A LOT of muscle to get there on a textbook 3 month cut at a 500-700 calorie deficit, so when I cut next time, it's going to be at like a 300-400 calorie deficit....it'll be a slow cut, but I'll preserve more muscle, as well.

I've never done it and I am not certain, but I don't think I have ever been below 15-17% so we shall see what kind of cross country runner I look like...

    haha

as long as you lose fat slowly and don't cut like 1000 calories below maintenance, you should stay pretty lean. For me, the threshold was like 500 calories. Any more than that, and my muscle gets dafuq outta town.

Did you continue to lift throughout and keep the protein up? Or did you just go all anorexia style?

I lifted exactly as I do when bulking. I went heavy enough to where I could only do 6-12 reps. Nothing too low or too high. I keep my protein high year round, just to have a security blanket to make sure them muscles don't EVER get thirsty. I consume anywhere from 220-250 g protein per day, year round. I eat clean 6 days out of the week and cheat every Saturday. On a cut, cheating would be like 1 bad meal and then drinking whiskey and water or sprite zero at night, whereas cheating on a bulk, I eat what I want, when I want, and drink beer all day Saturday lol.

Hmm... I don't know much, but it sounds like a pretty solid plan to me haha. What are your specs now? Height, weight, arm size, waist, etc. If you don't mind me asking that is.
Haha well I'm not sure I wanted to know what YOU looked like, but I digress...:p

143lbs @ 7%bf how tall are you? I am 6'2" and 230 right now here I was about a month ago (right after rolling out of bed lol). Nothing spectacular, but I assure you I'm trying! I have put on approx 20 lbs since the beginning of the year so of course it won't all be clean.
