    Because it's not a big deal :p

Where did you find Trail Grapplers? And how much are they? Should be a nice setup with Trail Gear beadlocks.

Sounds like you still need a spare. I never understood getting only 4 tires...

Nice tire choice though. Interested in how they perform!

Yeah spare will be used. I've got a while to find one.

Well hope you don't get a flat or slice a sidewall.

My thoughts are the larger the tire the more critical having a spare is. I personally would never drive anywhere except to the tire shop without a spare.

You've got those paper thin sidewall BFG KM2's huh? I could see you needing a spare at all times :p

Yeah funny thing is everyone that says that hasn't run KM2s, they just regurgitate what they "heard". I have seen plenty Kevlar sidewalls tear in two as well, but I don't go around bashing mtr's.

I have/do run them and have no issues. Haven't needed a spare yet. That doesn't mean I am going leave it at home, either.

And regardless of what tire, unless it is a solid rubber tire like a forklift, it is possible to get flats, and it will happen.

Proper planning prevents problems. If someone I am with gets a flat and has no spare, not my problem and I will/have left them there. If you cant afford a full set of 5, you really can't afford new tires yet, IMO.

Anyone run KM2s at KOH? How'd they fare?

You can read a million threads on mtrs vs km2s and it's all the same, back and forth with no consensus. I really wanted to step up into big boy tire land and get pitbull/swamper/maxxis type sidewalls but everything I read about the 40" trail grapplers said they have outstanding sidewalls and held up awesome at KOH.

But yeah I don't think I'll have any problems with flats in my garage. Don't you worry about my spare. I'll get one by the time she's up and rolling err running. And I definitely don't need to waste money on a 5th new tire. I'm not they type of guy who rotates his spare tire though. It's a spare for a reason. However, I could afford it.

So when you stepping up to 40s? :p

I know for a fact MT/R's do really well in sharp Arizona rocks. KM2's get shredded to hell. Other BFG's work good but not KM2's.

I read somewhere on Pirate that those 40" Trail Grapplers weigh over 100lbs each  That's burly!

on the plus side, it's just more weight down low to keep the cog lower

It's also extra weight that will always help you grip rocks. Like if you get a little high centered, you just lost a good chuck of your sprung weight that was on your tires, but you tires and all the rest of your unsprung weight will help the tires get some grip assuming they are still touching the ground anyway. haha

That's more rolling mass though. Harder/slower to turn, and more likely to break shit. I'd personally just prefer keeping a metric shit-ton of weight on the axle itself.

I think it's worth it for these.

What does a rocker or a trep run compared to whatever else? I'm sure they're pretty fawking heavy too.
