    Ok he just texted me that the tires are from late 06. That seems kind of old. What do you guys think?

    not really a deal IMO. you can find trd wheels. they aren't hens teeth. plus the tires are 7.5 years old. granted new they would cost about $800-900, but they aren;t new and i don't like old ass tires...

    If the tires were up to date it will actually be a good deal.

    This might be too late of a response, but all tires have a date on one side of the tire. You'll see the letters "DOT" followed by up to 10 letters/numbers. The last four numbers are the manufacture date stamp (i.e. 3010). This would indicate the tire is produced in the 30th week of 2010. Older tires (pre-2000) will only have three number.

    All tire manufacturers recommend replacement after 6 years. After 10, tires are considered unsafe to inflate. Depending on what condition the tires are in, I wouldn't suggest purchasing a used tire that is older than 3 1/2-4 years.
