As much bass as I listened to in high school my ears aren't bad at all right now. Got an audiogram about a year ago.

In my experience (I get a hearing test every year), my stereo in my car has had no impact on my hearing, though I did come out of the gate with poor hearing... Not sure if I was born with sub par hearing or my middle school days of blaring headphones in my ears on the 45 minute bus rides did it. I passed the little hearing tests we did in like 1st and 2nd grade to see if you have a learning disability, but I think they were just testing if you were below a certain level. My freshman year of high school is when I first learned it was bad in physics class when we were learning about sound. My Junior year I joined the Army and got reemed by an audiologist for having poor hearing, but it was good enough to get in. My senoir year I got that loud ass system I have in my car and I used to blare it everywhere, even on my hour+ long drives to drill I did and after 3ish years of that my hearing tests were all the same. I went to Iraq and was exposed to a lot of helicopters and came back pretty much deaf in my left ear and limited in my right... I've taken a couple tests since and have remained the same as when I got back.

Long story short all of my stereo listening doesn't seem to have affected my hearing. Ear buds are supposed to be horrible on your ears though... So I would say it depends on how you listen to your loud music.

Tinnitus fucking blows! As I'm guessing you are aware with the way you worded that post. haha. My left ear is pretty much plagued with it 24/7. So much so that silence absolutely drives me up the wall...

That's pretty debatable. haha Everyone has different pain tolerances. I don't feel like the grinders hurt at all, but they certainly aren't good on the ears. The more often you expose yourself to loud noises the more you increase your pain tolerance as well. My car used to not bother my ears at all, but not that I don't listen to it very much anymore, when I crank it, it almost hurts.

Haha ya. I don't have it constantly. Probably 3 times a week and it happens at random times. I don't think Ill ever get used to it. People say I look retarded when it happens though.. It can freak me out if I am really focused.

Surprisingly my hearing before the army and after the army was the same. I rarely used ear plugs as well.

you want to talk about bad hearing, im sure brady is the expert at that, firing off rifles and hand guns, no ear protection needed lol.

I like me hearing too much.

The only time I didn't wear it was when I shot the shot gun. I wore it or had my ears plugged for everything else.

Fuck that. I can do shotguns and rifles for a little bit but I have to have ear plugs for my pistol since it's so close to my damn face and I'm shooting rapidly compared to long guns
