Sorry, but no. Both of those are water cans.
The plastic one on the right is the current-issue military one.
The metal one on the left is Korean War era -- I know, I have four of my dad's old ones from when he was in the Navy, and they are stamped various years in the 1950s. The inside is a yellowish epoxy coating, right? The gasket is cork? Used for water. The fuel can from the same era is the classic metal can with the threaded outlet that never seals.

 

Fairly certain that one on the left is a gas can. It has 3 handles so you can carry one, or two in a hand. Carrying 2 water cans in each hand would be incredibly difficult.

 

wha? gas has nearly the same specific gravity as water. both weigh between 6.5 and 7lbs a gallon. that makes no sense, carrying two full 20L cans of either would weigh about the same.

^^^ Skygear - Sure you could, but pressure washing hose has a much larger bend radius tolerance. As long as that will still allow you to plumb it where you want to go, or use additional fittings to make the turns.

i would think the volume of air that can fit in that 3/8" tube would create considerably less pressure than the same volume of water... i dont see why not.

it just wouldnt be as fun to move around because its so stiff.

 

I think what he means is that you can't easily hold 2 water cans with one hand because of the single carry handle.

 

That deal is insane. $120 off from retail. Just bought one.
