Thats cool! What does it do? I don't know what goes into bleeding the brakes.

Pumps fluid under pressure into the master cyl reservoir and pressurizes the whole breaking system. You just go around to each bleeder and open until no more air comes out. Then on to the next.

No more having one person pump the pedal while you open/close the bleeders.

No more refilling the resi every couple pumps either.

Nice! I might have to get one of those. My brother and father would probably split it with me.

I just looked on their website and it looks like that doesn't work on some toyotas. I don't think this is the tacoma, but I need to check.

It operates on the same principle as pumping the pedal. My guess would be something about the adaptor not properly working or an interference of sorts.

I believe the key in the truck has to be in the on position in order to bleed the brakes. I haven't found a good write up on it and have never tried it so I am not really sure how to do it.

Mine are easy now bc there's no abs pump to bleed and less brake lines now too.

I don't recall the exact procedure but that's why there's the FSM's out there. I don't know where there are hosted now but that's where I would start for a complete system bleed. There's some extra steps for the abs pump etc.

For adding extended lines or something where are isn't introduced too far upstream, just the normal pumping the brakes while opening closing the bleeder does the trick just fine.

I don't know of any free FSM. The only one I know of is TIS and I really don't want to have to pay for it just to bleed the brakes. My girlfriends dad manages a Midas so I will ask him.

Peter for our '12s you just leave the key on, hook up your bleader bottle and step on the brake and hold, the pump does the work for you. I did it when I put my extended brake lines on... Really easy.

Oh sweet! No need to pump. So is this the steps?

    Remove some old fluid
    pour in some new fluid
    attach hose to bleeder valve
    open valve
    Turn key to on
press brake it until the clean stuff comes through
    close the bleeder valve
    check fluid level
    move to next wheel.

Check fluid one last time and done?

you got it. But DO NOT LET THE RESERVOIR GO DRY! I didnt learn the hard way but everything i read said not to let that happen. I just added new and didnt pull any out since its all still pretty new. I had about a gatorade bottle full of stuff when I was done that I cleared out.

Yeah I also read that in a few places! Apparently when that happens you have to bring it to a toyota dealer! Thank you for clearing that up! I will probably just order some extended brake lines and some flare nut wrenches now that I know how easy it is.

You don't happen to know off hand what size wrench is needed by chance?

I think it's a 10 but honestly i had better luck with an adjustable open end wrench... I could get it on there tighter. Careful with those nuts too, can strip em real easy and they are on there real tight.

Get the set of metric line wrenches, stock and aftermarket are going to be different sizes . Easy job, you can gravity bleed them as well.

You can let them drip until its a steady flow, still will need to bleed them. I did it the old fashioned pump method.

That's what I was referencing the FSM for. There's a speical pro edure to get the air out of the abs pump if you let the resi go dry.
