I have to put enough force when I close the door which sounds like I am slamming the door or it wouldn't close tight. Is this a symptom of cheap Taco doors or is there something wrong?

Try closing the door with a window cracked open. The air pressure in the cabin makes the door more difficult to close. I installed rain guards so that the interior will stay dry with the window cracked open.

My more expensive cars and clunkers never had this problem before.

Are you sure the car wasn't in an accident? Or that something isn't wrong with the striker?

It's because the truck is tight the air is trapped inside the well sealed truck if it's any consolation it does get better after awhile.

I don't know if Tacos have them (I think they do), but vehicles have a louvered vent in the rear quarter to ease the positive pressure.. ie, windows closed when closing doors, highway driving with the windows down.

Maybe someone here knows if our trucks have these vents?

If my understanding is correct they don't have to report it if it happens on the lot before it's sold. We get cars from dealers like this all the time and they never disclose it

Is it an access cab? They shut than harder than double cabs because of the rear suicide doors. Nothing to do with them being cheap though.

My doors do this. The truck is just under a month old. I figured it was the air pressure due to the sealed cabin. I'll take having to shut my door like a beast and having the tightly sealed cabin over a lesser seal and easy door closing.

Just a bunch of old crap
The catch on your door latch may have slightly moved. Try loosening it and moving it out just a smidge. That way, your door will catch the latch sooner before it hits the weatherproofing rubber.
