Hollister Hills March 23rd

My first time at HH as well. I'm looking forward to it!

 

I went once, but it was before tires and skid, plus I was alone and no way to change a flat... Needless to say, I took it really easy hopefully I'll be able to bring my own wheels. Feeling much better now.

 

I'll be meeting the Bernal Rd. Crew being that that's the closest group for me and I'll roll out with you guys. One week left I'm so excited!!!

 

Ok so for any HAM (2M) users. I will be on 146.430 during the day for simplex. I will also monitor the Milpitas Repeater on my way down since I will be traveling down 680.

Yeah I'm getting pumped too. Looking forward to getting out and wheel with the regulars and meeting up with all the new guys too. Hopefully I'll have my CV installed and tuned in time.

I want a CB

 

Just an update, I got one 4runner that's coming along and another 2 for maybe.

 

All this talk of ham gets my wallet hurtin'. CB is plenty for me.

 

I wish I had a HAM radio. That stuff is badass!

 

I might not even have a CB up and working for HH...hand signals for me

 

I actually took my CB out since the HAM is used mostly in the 120 trips.

Going HAM is definitely worth it. Better, no way better clarity and the distances that can be achieved are awesome. I was in San Mateo hitting the repeater on Mt Diablo and could talk to a guy in Auburn. That is impressive.

 

my friend was talking to dudes overseas on HAM...now that is impressive!

 

Do you guys mind if I bring a buddy? He has a 200X Nissan Frontier that he has all MT'ed out. It's a pretty badass rig he likes to take it to Pismo and he jumps it frequently. He is no beginner to wheeling so he by all means would be able to keep up with us.

 

Pretty slick, indeed. Just a bit more time/dinero than I care to invest at the moment some day.

 

We're definitely going to have to split up into groups this trip. There are way too many people to stay together the whole time on the trails. It would be way too slow and difficult to stay together.

 

That being said put me on the newbies/1st timer list ive only went wheeling once and that was with BBtacosurfer and caltacoma09 other than that ive just hit high speeds in the socal deserts haha

 

FYI the Santa Cruz 4wd Club will also be in Hollister Hills on both Saturday (3/22) and Sunday (3/23) doing there mud run so there should be some good entertainment http://www.sc4wdc.com/calendar.html
