Hello! Some of y'all may be familiar with the recovery ropes I have been selling. Here is a new product I am offering. Dyneema soft loop shackles are great because they don't rattle, they're light, packable, and save the material you're strapping to. Breaking strength of these is right at 16,000 lbs. Other places sell these for $30 and $40.

I am offering to TW members ONLY $25 shipped (CONTIG) for a 5/16" Soft Shackle loop that is 6" in diameter.

Color choices are: Blue, Green, Red, Gray

Chafe sleeve is included and is white.

Other deals: Buy 2 loops for $40 shipped or 3 for $60 shipped

PM me for other deals if you would like to buy winch line or recovery ropes.

Bump for a good guy who is awesome to deal with and very knowledgeable in synthetic winch line. I have one of the soft shackles he's made and they are aweome! Excellent craftsmanship and super easy to use. Like he said they save weight and you don't have to deal with the annoying rattle of two or more shackles rattling against each other and at the price of two for 40 I think there a great buy.

I apologize for my blatant ignorance, but the loop does not look like it is big enough to slip over the knot. It does open up so you can slip it through a eyelet, right?

chances of a sharp/square edged recovery point cutting the rope under tension?

Very, very, slim. If you've ever tried cutting dyneema, you'll know why. The chafe sleeve is also made of dyneema, so unlike polyester chafe sleeves which snag and pull, this is a slicker, tougher material.

You're correct! That's how the loop holds closed. However, you can see that one of the lines is run inside the other, therefore making a constrictor loop. So, it's easily opened by sliding the lines against each other when not under load. When under load, it closes very tightly.

I'm all for these soft shackles and I'll be making my own soon, but I feel like your statement is a bit misleading. Soft shackles shouldn't be used in a sharp bending situation like those on weld on recovery points. It WILL degrade the line and could cause a break when you don't want it to. The outside of the bend will end up taking most of, if not all, of the load while the inside of the bend sees none of the load. So the chafe guard will protect from fraying, but the outside strands of line will be taking most of the load, possibly exceeding their limit.

Yes, I'm sure the chances are slim but I'd want people to know the risks of using them in weld-on recovery points or similar areas.

Not necessarily true. When under load, all strands come together and act as "one unit"
