What is everybody doing to beef up the drivetrain? I'm planning on 4.88's, RCV axles, ARB lockers, possibly a truss in the rear...am I missing anything?

that's about all you can practiacally do. just remember to figure out what you want to be the weakest link. i'm waiting to see what happens with people who crawl with the RCVs. you can get to a point that the CVs are stronger than the front diff. i'd much rather twist a CV in two, than blow out a ring gear. if that turns out to be the case, i'll stick with OEM CVs.

There was a red taco in Canada that ran RCV's and had major problems with them. Personally, I'm running 4.88's and an ARB up front. No problems yet, but I don't intentionally go mashing through boulder piles either.

Guess that's true... But I'm already running chromoly half shafts. I just want the RCV's for the joints, and being able to maximize my travel.

4.88 isn't THAT small of a ring and pinion to where I'd be too worried. I would think the factory front drive shaft would be the first to go.

I love the talk and all...but

And what sort of crazy stuff would have to be done to fit 37s on OME suspension?

the same stuff that would ahve to be done to fit them on stock suspension :p

10-4. that things so tiny, you could probably have an inestructable one built for well under $300

cab mount relocation (not just chop), fender well/firewall tubbing, severly cut fenders or glass, low enough backspacing on your wheels to stay off the UCA. and for the rear, just cut the hell out of your fenders or glass. then make sure to regear and have spare driveline parts.

cut cut and cut some more, throwing a body lift in the mix will make it a whole lot easier, otherwise you pretty well need to tub.

I feel pretty confident that I could have cleared 37s with my set up had I gone with a 1 or 1.5" BL. Otherwise I'd have had to have tubbed and relocated my cab mount.

Easiest part to change for me is the CV. They are extended so they cost more..but is rather break that then the front diff. I've been pretty hard on my front diff. So hopefully it holds up.
