Yep and realistically if you just get a set of Allpro Expos with the shackle flip it can still handle a good amount of weight since the Expos already have such a high spring rate.

yea ive seen those handle a lot, seems like it would be a good combination for lift also.

What shock relocation kit are you using?

I will soon have a very similar setup. With the XJ shackles, all pro expos and Pelfreybilt shock relocation kits.

All I need is the shackle flip kit but I can't order it on the ATO website due to addressing issues.

    ADAM! Help! Lol

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
I have had the flip kit since October, and now I have finally completed it. One hell of a time.

I tried a few different methods, and this seemed to be the quickest and easiest

I used an air cut off tool, went through 3 wheels, and a 1/2" drill bit. Once the rivets were cut off, all I had to do was get the bit started on slow speed, then go to high speed to finish up. Once the bit drilled through far enough, the rivets just popped the rest of the way out.

Same with the AP standard leafs, I also had to trim a little bit of material off of my tow hitch bracket in order to get the flip to the furthest setting

Checked out Zone off road, they have these and a set of greasable shackles, pretty nice.

When we did mine, we used a 14" grinding wheel to grind the heads off all the rivets, then pried the hangers off and ground the rivets flush to the frame again. Then drilled them just a little with like a 1/4" bit and hit them with an air hammer. That made short work of them. The front hangers are a lot harder to remove than the rear ones.

when i did mine i ground the heads off the rivets, then heated the area around the rivets and hammered them out with a 3 pound mini sledge. took no more then 4 hits on each rivet.

can anyone tell me what shocks they used to get the full potential out of the flip kit with a Dakar leaf pack??? I'm trying to gather up all the parts to do mine and this seems to be the hardest to figure out. I currently have OME shocks but want the most out of my kit. just curious what others used with their Dakar leafs.

I hauled just shy of a ton of gravel in the bed of my truck the other day and it handled great. I have expos, shackle flip, bilstein b110 shocks and hockey puck/timbren bump stops. Bumps were slightly compressed but the truck drove great.

Bilstein b110 shocks (around $150 I think from wheelersoffroad.com) they are designed for more lift than the normal 5100s. Just need to make sure the compressed length will work. I had to add a hockey puck to my bump stop so the shocks can't bottom out. So realistically I lost a small amount of up travel but I gained a lot of down travel.

I would like to get rid of the blocks under my saggy springs, but maintain, or raise the level slightly. I am thinking of a Shackle flip and 2" add a leaf. Can someone give me a little guidance? I do pull a trailer every now and then, and I've seen where the shackle flip is not ideal for this. Would i be better off getting a new leaf pack?

If you leafs are sagging now your going to blow through that add a leaf in a matter of months. 2 inch lift springs and a shackle flip nets 2.5 to 2.75 inches of lift normally. I have dakars and the first gen ato flip and it gave me about 3 full inches, I tow a 3500lbs trailer with no problems and Im long travel up front as well.

Does the shackle flip take some of the hardness out of the Dakars? I've heard they have somewhat of a harsh ride. (yes i know it is a pickup truck, not a lincon). The jeep I have will knock your fillings out, I don't want to have another ride like that.

Ok. So for choice of shocks, 5100's, nitro's,?? What about brake lines? Extended?

Extended brake lines for sure. For shocks you need to measure compressed and extended lengths from mount to mount and buy according to that.

    what?

    this^

typically the bilstein b110's (5100s for more lift) are the right length and affordable.
