Anyone using a front end bra (not clear type) on their Taco? If so, what brand? I like how the Colgan brand looks. Anyone using this one? Any pics?

What do you want it for, your 1986 Camaro? Might go well with a mullet. Business up front, party in back.

I had to look it up as I really didn't know what to expect.

Honestly? That doesn't look too bad. I've been looking around for a bug deflector here recently, but this might even be a different kind of option.

Never had a bra on a tacoma, but I did have one on a Mazda Protege for about 5 years. It was a Wolf brand. It had nice felt lining that hugged the paint. Never scratched or wore the paint, never got loose or flapped around. Granted, BRAS take a bit more maintenance. When the bra got wet underneath, I always took it off and let it dry. Especially...if it's a hot summer day, you don't want that moisture baking againest your paint. Always keep it clean and tight. Always take it off to wash the truck also. Never take it off or put it back on a dirty truck. Always clean the surface, etc.

I looked quick and didn't see any Wolf brand bras for tacomas.

Damn you guys are mean lol.
I think those car bras are too overrated and I think they are a waste of money too. But if your real anal about the front getting scratched up than I guess so.

Problem with a bra as a hood protector, it will haze your paint if it gets wet and stays on too long.

Well at least you were able to find a pic on a later model Tacoma! I search for an hour and gave up.

I really am looking for something that covers the whole front end. FWIW, I do a lot of traveling and get tired of cleaning all the bugs off.

I had bras on my cars before and they worked out great....just wondering if one for my Taco would be useful.

Here's the link on the brand that I was considering....I have had this brand before and it was top quality.

I personally don't like the way they look, but would'nt mind one when you are wheeling behind other people and you get roosted by someone's Jeep or truck in front of you.

The thing that you have to be careful with on the bra is that over time your paint will fade over time. Maybe not as much with the newer paints but it is something to consider. Also if your the bra is not padded good or not on there tight enough then you have to worry about it moving and wearing spots into your paint.

If you are looking for paint protection the best way to go is to put a clear bra on it.

    Just my .02

Won't you still have to clean the bugs off the bra?

And why not a clear bra? What's the difference?

Yeah but its a lot easier, plus it will offer protection against paint chips.

The clear bra is not removable on a day to day basis.

I can't see me putting a bra on my truck - as was mentioned above, if you put a bra on it, you have to worry about the paint hazing (traps water, doesn't get exposed to the elements, e.g. sun, etc).

Why would you want to remove the bra from day to day? The clear bra would be there to prevent chips, etc. and you don't have to remove it - sorda the point...
