I am having trouble choosing what kind of 2014 tacoma to get after i EAS.

The base model im looking at is: double cab, 4x4, short bed, v6, automatic for $25,119
    With off road package
    $28,374
    With sports package
    $28,021

should I get a short bed or long bed?

    Which package is best?
Or is the base*double cab, 4x4, short bed, v6, automatic good enough for handling snow?

best depends on your intended use... after that its just personal preference. for me, i dont have a family nor do i plan on having one.. and i like to go offroading and camping in some out of the way places. access cab offroad (and baja to boot) was much more about function, because i needed the longer bed to haul my bikes than the extra cab space.. and wanted a factory lift because i dont have time to do major upgrades like that myself.. i dont really care for the four full door look on the tacoma anyways.. but ill admit, its growing on me.

most people will tell you to go base model and build your way to perfection, and truly this is the more cost efficient method if you can do the work yourself. if youre a less mechanically inclined Marine and want to enjoy the great out doors, any 4x4 will work, truly. my sport went places i never thought it would be able to. i imagine the purposed offroad package could manage even more.

thanks for the help the 4x4 model is probably the best choice for me now but I dont want to look some time down the line and be mad because I should have atleast upgraded to one of the packages.

Not sure if it's a good or a bad deal. I'm happy with it and I suppose that's what counts :)

Where are you and how the heck did you get such a good deal? I couldn't get any of the dealers here close to that on a 4x4.

USSA has this car buying garuntee if you buy the car through them they even knock off an additional .50% off the APR im hoping that by the time I buy it the dealer is willing to knock off an additional $1,000 since the 2015 models should be out soon after.

I searched the usaa car buying service and their price for a 2014 trd or was 31875 and I have to drive to virginia (100 miles). Their apr was 1.99 which is awesome

The dealer wants 31400 for the same truck and a apr of 2.99 through Toyota

The difference minus my downpayment makes the dealer about $300 more than usaa over the full course of the loan

How are tacos selling in your area? Up here in se pa they are flying off dealer lots. There was only one truck and in the two hours I was at the dealer two other people came in looking at it. Pretty nuts

Those are great prices! I used usaa and they were more expensive for my area code (north texas)

I had a 07 base model prerunner. I liked it but I had to add aftermarket cruise control and upgraded a lot of stuff.

I had a 2010 doublecab prerunner off road with JBL and it was nice. I had a lot of fun driving this truck and I miss it.

If I did it again I would get a double cab, 4x4, SR5, long bed. I dont want to pay the premium for the TRD seats or the bed outlet.

I do need the long bed though. I couldnt fit my mountain bike in the bed with the tailgate closed in my shortbeds.

It really comes down to personal preference and what you will be doing with the truck.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I've been quoted $31,865+TTL for a 2014 4x4 Tacoma Doublecab TRD Off-road with Tow package and Entune plus. Gonna add $200 for the film paint protection.

Sounds like that's a price I should run to the dealer for, not wait around and think some more.

Tell them to throw the paint protector in for free and they have a deal.
