Embarassed about the brand and model? I've never understood those that tape over the logos.

I have heard of people doing it for wildlife photography. Swearing the glare off the chrome could scare off the animals. I had a friend that did it as a cheap security feature against thieves too.

Buzzards is probably just a hipster :p.

2 reasons. I shoot mostly candid street portraits and like to draw as little attention as possible. It comes from my Marine Corps days. I don't like tags, brands, whatever on anything. I taped the O on my Oakleys in country just so they wouldn't glare the sun and get me shot. And I don't like to rep any brank. The other reason is that's just the way I like my camera to look. Like a basic, old, film SLR not worth looking twice at. Simple.

Guys, this has the exact same options as every camera you all have haha it just doesn't have a PASM dial. Instead of putting it in A for Aperture priority and then setting the aperture, you just turn the aperture ring on the lens. Same for Shutter priority. It can be set to all Auto if you want. It just doesn't have a PASM dial haha. Take a look at any old film camera. They have dials for each function instead of a mode dial.

You would have to have a good eye to spot brand names on my gear and clothes. Ill talk about products I like freely but if they want me to be a walking ad or put stickers on my truck I better get a pay check or free things .

I'm function over fashion or brand loyalty. I drive a Toyota because it is the best tool for the job I need and is reliable. If Toyota went down the tubes I'd have no loyalties ha I'd jump ship to whatever tool fits the job. Same with this camera ha I found the tool that best suits me and my needs. It's like picking a rifle. You don't just walk into a store and say I want a rifle. There's a hundred different purposes for such a tool. I like this camera and I especially like the old school film camera style of dials :D haha

It's a great looking camera. I ended up with sony because it was the only one I could play with other than Cannons POS. I took a sony cybershot through hell and back before it. Slightly brand loyalty but it wasn't until I picked it up did I know I wanted it.

The NEX-6 is what I was pretty dead set on. It's a great camera. I just started shooting film and loved the layout. I shot with the Olympus then and loved it 100%, but the files in low light were weak so I was looking for better low light performance. Which brought me to Fuji. Some compare it to FF low light performance, and I've been more than happy with it.

I've seen this before haha What in the world was this guy thinking!?

Yep, that was 15 minutes. Ill be playing with stacking in the future.

Also, got the new lens. Didn't really get to use it but it seems like its going to be a good fit. I am heading out someone else tomorrow for a day or so and hoping to put it to use.

First photo taken with off camera lighting. Sync speed could be faster but the Fuji is handling it without any hiccups this far. This is a cropped jpeg haha

What did you use for the flash and sync, was it wireless sync?

Two LumoPro lp180s. One in an umbrella and one through a tiny softbox. They are manual flashes and it was not wireless. I used a 16" sync cord from the flash in the umbrella to my camera and the other flash was on slave mode to pick up the first. It's not a technically well lit photo, I know haha just figuring out how to set them up and make them all talk for today. I'll dig deeper this weekend when I (hopefully) have more time.

I've always wanted a soft box, there is are tons of DIY's on photography-on-the.net I almost bought an Alien Bee setup but I'd have more use for a good soft box.

Post a picture of your setup I'd love to see it.
