Squeaky rear wheel well

Just noticed I have a squeak coming from the passenger side rear wheel well. When I push down on the side of the bed I get a squeak. Seems to be coming from shock area. Cannot duplicate on drivers side. Truck is 2009. What do you guys think the squeak is? No mods done what so ever to suspension.

 

Hmmm, I would imagine that should be covered under warranty correct? I should push for the new leaf pack if it is.

 

How would dirt get in there? Have not gone through any dirt or off-road.

 

just from the road, it should go away if you pressure wash em and just lube em up

 

I'm just gonna bring in it. I have a loose rear view mirror, now the squeak. Need to get the tires rotated as well. I might inquire about the TSB as well.

 

Get a 4leaf pack..but it will squeak anyway....keep them lubed

 

yup ..... have had 4 leaf pack for 6 months and the squeak is here! damn squeaks! One of these years Toyota will get it right......I hope.

 

So the squeak is normal? This is a pretty heavy squeak. How does one lube up the leafs?

I think I am going to try and find a graphite dry lube ( or something of the sort) so the dirt won't stick to it.

 

+1 for the white lithium. They also make anti-friction pads that can go between the leaves...There is a TSB for that too.

 

You know I gotta say, so far mine haven' t squeaked (before and after AAL TSB), and I've ragged mine out in the desert several times... also I've never lubed them up lol (24.5k)

Of course, the second I drive home karma will kick me in the ass...

 

I just put a custom Deaver 10 leaf pack on my truck and had a terrible squeak afterwards when I pushed down on the bed of my driverside. The shop that installed said it was dirt in between the leafs and it happens sometimes. I followed Deavers recommendations and replaced the bushings and lubed liberally and made sure the center pins were not "too tight" and now the squeaks are totally gone. Would not hurt to try on stock leafs if the dealer will not help you out.

 

Yeah, gonna bring it by and see what's up. Can't hurt. Plus I will inquire about the TSB as well. My part #'s and VDS match. I'm sure the dealer willdo something. He is pretty good to deal with.

 

Stupid question, but what's the best way and place to lube these things? My rear leafs squeak like an SOB (I drive 2 miles down dirt roads every day). Pressure washing gets the squeak to go away for a day. Pressure washing plus silicone lube gets the squeak to go away for two days. I'm wondering if there's something better to use as lube.

 

Mine was squeaking and i found the retainer that keeps the packs all in line on the rear of the spring pack was twisted a hair. Hit it back square with a hammer and the squeak went away. May not be your issue but its something quick to check.
