I made the mistake of sitting on that Honda at Central Maine Powersports last summer and fell in love. I haven't stopped thinking about it since, haha! I've got stumpy little legs, but it fits me perfectly (probably because it's made by the Japanese)

That's like saying "I want that Honda car"
    More details are required.

    That's a sharp bike, but...
    lol @ the fairing.
I figure that'll be how I know when I'm old; when I leave the windshield on my bike all summer rather than just when it's less than 40 degrees.

A million bucks is kind of in a whole different ball park than the motorcycles we're throwing around...

Never been a fan of the Ducatis. Something about their styling has always kind of bugged me. Plus a lot of the owners I've met have been Douchebags.

There something about blasting around with music blaring that is strangely appealing to me now. I rode this for 7 years. [IMG]

Haha that was directed at Dave who just got a Ducati monster last year. Now he wants to trade it on a Harley.

You have a streetfighter, right? Really curious why you don't like it.

Any duel sport is wrung out at about 85 mph so. Even my 690 Duke runs about 4500 RPMs at ~ 70. All I can say is, if you want to avoid high priced parts and maintenance, stay far away from KTMs... My buddies Dad's 950 SMR does much better on-road but you can really feel the weight difference on turn in and on dirt roads. His sons 530 is a blast to ride on the twisties but take it on the highway for more than 15 minutes and you are going to have a bad time.

Oh and this just gives me another excuse to whore out my bike...

Gentlemen, it's Friday. I have a three-day weekend. That extra intake manifold from Ckeene should be coming in today. Tomorrow it'll be warm enough to get some work done on the Tacoma. 'Murica.

    :headbang:

Is that similar to the XTP manifold spacer? I read up on that and sub'd it for later. It seemed like a good mod.

I'm dog sitting at my dad's this weekend and will have access to his 12' garage with lift (and heat). All of which are lacking from my garage. Either doing rust removal or fender chop to give my 285/75's some room to move.

Not all dual sports are wrung out to hold highway speeds, that's why I'm trying to be selective. I have owned 2 of them already and the faster of the 2 topped out at just under 70 (and the engine was screaming at that speed).

I have heard that about KTM also. If I make the swap, I plan to look for either Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki. I like Honda but the XR is set up way to tall for me and, from what I understand, it's not really set up to me lowered like say the DR. I had someone offer to trade mine for a BMW 650 but I declined. Turns out the front forks are weak where they hold the axle in place. I didn't need to have that fail at highway speeds!

Very similar, except I use the donor intake and hack off the piece I want to use as a spacer.

I hope so. A couple extra tq from 1500-2200 rpm would be much appreciated.

I'm checking every calendar I own so that I can prove that holiday to the girlfriend when I get home tonight.

Google it, it's 1 month after Valentine's Day. I can promise you, even if you prove it, it won't help your case. If it's not in the cards, it's just not in the cards.

Damn it. We need to get that holiday officially recognized by the calendar-making companies.
But, I do have a steak in the fridge, and a big bottle of tequila in the liquor cabinet...

So you have all the makings for the missing piece :D

I'm sure you could find a Maxim calendar or something with it marked.

It fucking sucks. It's a rocket ship but kills my arms and back after an hour, many told me this Erik and John mentioned it and I agree it's a sport bike thing. I can fix it with risers but I don't want that. The hyper strata looks fun;)
Right!?!? I thought the same thing they are very torquey like the Duc is and a hell of a lot more comfortable. I'm going to try the hyper strata out on my next visit to the dealership

Anyone know a local place where I can purchase a small bag of hog rings for upholstery repair?

I'd prefer to not buy online because the low price of the item doesn't give me free shipping. I'm planning on replacing the seat foam in my car but you need hog rings to get the fabric back into place. I already bought a pair of pliers, but haven't had any luck on the rings themselves.
