In the video he says there will be a 4.2L engine now. Does anyone know where he got this information from?

I'm 100% sure toyota won't be offering 3 different engines for the tacoma

Yeah I don't know why they were saying all that stuff. The guy keeps stuttering. I guess he was nervous.

He's quoting an article that was published last June.
It was broken english, said the Tacoma would have something like 9 different engine/transmission combinations.

    He doesn't know shit.
Until the new Tacoma arrives at an auto show, nobody will know.

Don't expect a redesign for 2015... the 2014 Tundra had already been unveiled by this time last year. The big reveal at the auto shows this year was Toyota getting back into the Supra demographic.
We've got another year of the '12+ Tacoma design.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
all credibility leaves when he starts out "This here's a 2014...which has been the same exact style since 05."

that being said, the tundra offers 3 engines, why not the taco? would be able to justify the climbing taco prices.

Toyota probably isn't replacing the 4.0L anytime soon.. http://youtu.be/qK6WJQPLDzI @23s. Although their chief engineer is referring to the v8, all three engines are basically sisters. Pretty definitive answer for now.

It makes no sense. A 4.2 is only 12 cubic inches bigger. If they want more power they can get it without the extra 12 cubic inches. Just make the SC standard. There would have to be some other serious changes along with changing to a 4.2 to gain any HP and still gain MPG. And why offer a 3.5 makes even less sense. Two totally new designs. I seriously doubt it.

The Toyota motor plant here in Huntsville is certifying a new motor for the Tacoma. I know they were doing some final tuning in late December. I'll have to give my friend who works there a call.
