    I have to laugh at some of the comments. Good ones there for sure. As I mentioned, and I DO want to make clear, I am still not 100% sure it is a scam, but I do THINK it is. I am still waiting on his reply, and I will not pass judgement until then. I also won't post what forum, or the name of this person until he is either vindicated, or proven to be a scammer. I will give him the opportunity to defend himself.

    Yes, it is out of state. But I am not planning to press charges if this is in fact a scam. It would cost me more money and time, and just is not worth it. Getting his name out there to OTHER vendors to protect THEM is what I would do. Just like other people post things where vendors or buyers try to cheat. The entire purpose of this thread will simply be to put it out there to protect others from this guy.

    Send him a letter and refund his money...

    =============

    Dear Sir,

    I regret that my equipment did not meet with your standards. For that I am truly ashamed.

    I made a careful inspection of the product you sent to me and I have to say that anyone who would ship a product like that and expect someone to believe that it is first-quality equipment has to be a certified moron. Furthermore, to expect the receiver of this equipment to be stupid enough to not recognize the lack of quality - well, that's just simply insulting and shows lack of respect by the sender.

    I am so upset by this turn of events that I've decided to refund you not only the purchase price, but an additional amount to compensate you for your shipping and handling costs not to mention all of your valuable time and effort.

    Please find enclosed your refund. I hope that you can use this refund and the additional compensation to find a vendor who can satisfy your high standards which I am clearly unqualified to fulfill.

    Sincerely,

    Enclosure:

    From the guy's email:

    "Not a user on the forum, but I am a user on xxxxxxxxxx.com"

    Who knows if it's complete bullchit or not, but at least I'd investigate that forum.

    I agree. Just seems super sketchy. The wording of even the 1st email would have had me thinking twice. Who seriously writes like that? Its way, way to formal. 2nd email...an FJ Cruiser...a car?? Good luck.

    To be honest, I have had a LOT of customers who talk quite formal in emails when asking about the bearings.

    Too few to list.
    Well he had enough sense to write a formal type e-mail but apparently no sense whatsoever to notice the extra lever by the transmission shifter to know if it is 2wd or 4wd. I believe FJ's only come with manual t-case shifter.

    Can't stand crooks/scammers/thiefs. Hope it works out for your benefit. And if it turns out for sure he is trying to scam you, hopefully karma will get him.
