sooo since i've gotten my 2009 TRD Off-Road 4x4 Double cab 3000 miles ago, i've gone through mud, water, sand, and pretty much whatever else you find here in florida. and through some research i have decided to extend the rear differential breather as well as change the fluid to synthetic,

Now with the rear locker, is there a breather for it that i would need to extend as well and could i just use a T fitting to join it with the rear diff snorkel?

and i've heard about a chatter that comes with changing to synthetic, would it be safe to use amsoil 75W-90 severe gear oil in the rear?

As always, thanks for any advice

    getting there....
nope...no sepaarate breather for just the locker.......just the breather for the diff itself. and 75w90 is fine for the locker....needs no additives.

ese loco, you're in vero? I went to high school there. I was kind of shocked when I saw that because most of the people on here seem to be from the west. Thanks to tacomaman06, I now know I too have to make time for the breather mod and fluid change.

yeah and it's prob just as boring as when you were here haha i just graduated and am ready to get out.

    But back on the topic,

You sure a synthetic like amsoil will work? I've searched around and it seems people seem to be have a problem with synthetic's in their rear differential and i just don't want the same so if anyone has experience with this product in their rear diff, let a brotha know haha

you are fine with it in the rear locker......its the limited slip differential folks were having a problem with.....namely mobil1 cause it really doesnt have enough friction modifiers in it.
