There are a couple factors that go into it and it may seem daunting but I will give it a go.

The weight of the safety is almost more important than the brand itself. I personally use this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Heavy-Double-Razor-Included/dp/B000QYEK88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394888092&sr=8-1&keywords=merkur+34c

The length of the handle is also a bit shorter so it fits in my hand completely which I prefer.

As for blades, that is a personal preference imho. Some people prefer the Japanese ones and others the German made ones. The brush; in my experience as long as it is a better quality badger hair you should be okay.

The soap; there are many different brands, scents, etc. These are more trial and error for me. I have tried ones that have great reviews and they dry my skin out and others that get poor reviews but they work great for me. So again ymmv. What is important however is the quality of the lather. Any soap that you can work into a good sudsy lather and keep warm you should be all set. Along the same line, I would recommend getting a shaving bowl of some sort where you can keep the soap warm and where you can really get a good lather working.

With all this being said, I will never go back to using one of the modern day razors with 9 million blades ever again. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jason. I have spent some time lurking on other forums and all your info is good and consistent. I have to figure if I want an adjustable, long handle or a short handle. I do plan on getting a nice brush and lather bowl

No problem. Glad to help. I debated the same thing about the handles and for me personally I am glad I went with the shorter handle. It did take some time to get used to but I am telling you, you will like it. Plus the blades are literally a couple cents per blade. (.10-.20 cents). Post up with your choice.

I never have the time in the morning to shave like that. I'm luckey if I have the time to spray shaving cream out of the can and shave with my 2 or 3 blades. LOL

    On a sad note

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.

Hell, just cut off the hoops and salvage the main part of the bumper.

Rob, since it's aftermarket it's technically not a part of the frame recall, right? :D

Billy, the safety razor is a much better shave in my opinion. You don't have to push hard at all and it gets much closer than the multi-blade razors. The cream or soap is important also but so is your technique. You should shave in 3 steps. The first step is shave with the grain, one pass, don't keep going over the same area. The second is across the grain, same thing one pass per area. The last pass is against the grain and again, one pass per area. Relather between each pass.

As for products, I like the long handled Merkur razors, I have one smooth comb and one open comb that is better for the neck area. I use Jack Black shaving cream and love it. I bought a cheaper badger brush and it works well. I don't see the point of a $300 brush, I can't see it making that much of a difference. The Art of Shaving also makes great products, I've used their pre-shave oils, creams and still use their aftershave lotion. Believe it not, Armani actually makes a great shaving lotion also.

Short story, I think the lotion and aftershave you use and the technique are more important than the blade. As long as the blade is sharp, it will do the trick.

Started working on installing my Bilstein 5100s this morning. I'm calling BS on the posts in the Suspension and Lift thread that claim 20 minutes each side. This is a pain in the butt!!!

That seems like so much work just to shave . I only shave once or twice a week . I don't need to be clean shaven for work . But I'll try it some day and probably like it better then my Mach 3 . :D
