I do think what russia is doing is kinda shitty though, also America did sign a treaty with them guaranteeing protection in exchange for them to destroy their nuclear weapons. I dont want to see a war or anything but I think something more aggressive than "economic sanctions" should be done. No missles or anything but maybe put our own troops on the ground to prevent lawlessness like the russians taking over Ukrainian military bases.

I guess well see how the people there really feel after the voting goes on. Russia turning off the ukraine news stations in crimea sounds pretty shady though, like something north Korea would do.

 

Does anyone really think that Russian would allow a pro-west government have control over the peninsula where one of there largest naval bases are stationed? That would be like Cuba trying to take back GITMO. Didn't we get almost kicked out of the Ukraine over the air base that we essentially built and paid for to support the Afgan effort, only to capitulate to the Ukraine and just give in and let them have it.
They strike me as fair weather friends.
Slap the sanctions on them and let Europe deal with it.
