they got some good snow right before we got there. surprisingly i want to say they were only at 100" or so. still not as much as usual. But i agree, snowbird is awesome when there is nice fresh snow! Brighton is cool because its much cheaper, and less crowded.

Alaska is so low on snow right now it isn't even funny.. Only like 350" total so far. It should be like 600+" by now :(

$124 for a day pass at the boat. How the hell does the general public afford to ski? Thank god for buddy passes

That's so many places anymore. 70 plus for a day pass. Then you get there and spend half your time waiting in lines. It's why I only get a weekday pass and go backcountry on the weekends. I can't stand crowds and playing avoid-a-rider inbounds

here's a pic i took at steamboat in 2006... it was snowing quite heavily at the time, ...i did some contrast enhancement and added coloration effects to give it an "erie" appearance :D

anyone care to guess where it was taken on the mountain?

I live in Steamboat, pretty special place to live. Worked as a night janitor for two seasons, skied over 150 days a year. Not really wanting to leave!

Man I'm itching to get some turns in now.... Stupid summer and 100* days.. Although I may be hanging tele skiing up, might have to just re mount my Rory Silvias I just got last season. My right knee has been giving me a problem all summer... I'm affraid to know what's wrong with it so tele skiing might be out. Maybe I'll jump back to snowboarding with an Icelantic split.
