Shoot a pic of the spacer.. Sounds like he did a Level Lift..... No issues with removing it, the ride will improve. Will be softer.. It will sit nose down that is all.....

its dark out now, but yes thats what he did, a spacer to level the nose down but it kina gives the effect as if you trq down torsion bars on the front of a pickup to get the nose to sit up higher. i feel like the front is actually a little higher then the rear and once a load is put in the rear its going to make it even worse. im going into the shop on tuesday on my day off after the dmv and all to do the spare tire carrier recall so ill prob try and take it off then. not sure whats involved in it b.c i have not really looked at it to close but i can imagine it being to difficult

Not sure exactly how to convert it back. Do you have to remove the sprig to take the spacer out or just remover the whole unit remover the spacer and re-install the unit?

No I couldn't just remove it bc there is a diff top plate with extra long screws to compensate the spacer so I'm going to have to ether throw a quick strut on her or get a stock top plate. Thinking quick strut just bc I don't know how long the spacer has been putting the extra stress on the springs. She is a rough ride a I'm hoping removing the spacer with new factory style will smooth out the ride

here is a couple more. I installed a tailgate locking handle from my 99.

i also put a pic of my rear leafs. can i take out that bottom thick leaf to make it ride smoother or will that just mess up the whole rear end? im thinking that last leaf is for heavy load application but i dont plan on doing any real heavy work with this truck, maybe a trip for mulch or something like that but manly for mtb.

or is there anywhere i can get a lighter duty leaf with a softer ride for a reasonable price?

I removed the sway bar from mine and it softened up the front significantly. Just a suggestion.

    You could:
    1)Remove sway bar
2)Install plate bumpers to add weight to the truck to make it ride better
3)Replace your coil overs in the front with stock ones to restore a stock ride
-stock ride may still be rough though due to the nature of the truck (ie.single cab 4x4)
    4)Add a camper shell

Thats all i can think of. Good luck!!

Skyjacker has a "soft ride leaf" I'm going to call and see if that's a less stiff leaf. I'll prob get a bike rack that weighs around 50-100lb.

Tried to just let this go but ...

All of this my opinion. We all buy our trucks for different purposes. Because the op bought his truck to haul his mountain bikes and so forth, doesn't mean he's not using his truck as a truck. He needed ability to haul volume versus weight. Which also means he doesn't have to sacrifice ride quality for load carrying capacity. Tailoring the suspension to meet his needs and asking others for their recommendations based on their experiences is not out of line.

There's a whole big world out here.

OK, let me rephrase my comment.

OP buys lifted 4x4 pickup for the purpose of hauling mountain bikes and occasional small quantities of mulch (which ANY vehicle could do. In fact, I think hauling MTBs and bags of mulch is the Subaru motto), then has issues with ride quality

Hey guys, I just bought these 35" mud swamper tires and I really hate the ride quality, noise, MPGs, handling, and longevity. I was thinking of buying a machine to cut most of the tread off to round the tire out and make it more similar to a highway tire. Anyone ever done this before and have some advice?

Truck was a hard find in such good condition/low miles for it's age. If given the option of one in the same condition without the lift he might chose that one. But then he had better be buying lottery tickets too, because finding two in that kind of condition at that age is definitely a long shot. What's it matter any way? It's his truck.

i dont understand why you are so butt hurt that he is trying to make his truck ride a little better? He bought a nice little 4x4 single cab with the purpose in mind of using it to do some mountain biking and light work. Sounds like the perfect truck to me. And even if he did buy some 35" mud swampers and cut all the lugs off... hey its his truck.

for those who are defending me thank you, i knew there was still good ppl in this world :D

for the ones who are running there mouth with no idea what there talking about i feel bad for you. do you really have nothing better to do with your life but to try and push ppl down and criticize them to make you feel like a bigger person? pathetic if you ask me. and just to let you know i get full truck loads of mulch not bags bc its half if not less the price then buying individual bags everyone know that so you keep your car and bags of mulch and have fun with that.

Im re doing my whole kitchen, bath room and putting a large size deck on my house in about 2-3 weeks. im also building a shed for my mtb tools and anything i need storage for. so lets lets see, if you can fit cabinets, counter tops, enough wood to build a 12x20 shed and enough tech deck to build a 10X20 deck in the back of your car then you are my hero and i will sell my truck bc "im not using as a truck" and buy a car to be like you, till then why dont you go somewhere besides on my post with your negativity and insults bc no one here cares to here them. OH and another thing, we got 6-8 inches of snow last night/today and i was "not using my truck as a truck" to make $350 pulling people out of the ditches on the side of the expwy. unlike someone like you that would prob talk crap about how stupid they are as you drive by instead of helping ppl in need.
