    mine sounds just like that also. noticed it the first morning I cranked up. I've changed my oil twice so far and it never changes. just haven't had time to take it in to the dealership.

    This "issue" is happening to tons of people with '13-'14's... How in the hell has it not been figured out yet.

    Agree, not tons and I prefer it that way, otherwise it would be easy to claim that its normal.

    At least all of the videos except one (I think, not sure if it was in this thread as I've been looking at other threads) all sound the same (noise) to me. I went ahead and bought a stethoscope this morning, just as the OP the noise is lowder/more evident towards the bottom driver's side of my engine.

    While mine stopped making "the noise", i still get the noise you have at :29 seconds, but it does it longer. Any idea what that is? Sounds like a bunch of change shaking on a table for a second. I'll record it tomorrow if I remember.

    @hotrod, thanks for the update. Really hope you get a new truck out of this, Toyota better stand tall about this. Interesting that the field rep has heard it before.

    Based off my experience and a few others here, anyone feel its an oil or oil pressure issue? (I'm not nearly as mechanically inclined as most of you)

    FWIW, my 08 didn't make any of these sounds, starting to miss that thing. :)

    They changed the oil, it halved the sound....they changed it again, it nearly was gone and by the next oil change it disappeared completely. I was a bit fuzzy on my experience at first because it was a year ago and I had a new born at the same time(tired daddy memory)...had to dig through my service records to refresh myself. In the first oil change, it looks like they experimented with a synthetic and then went back to conventional. If you dig through my posts here, I posted that report.

    They already have a recall for your 4 cyl. for the problem. I just saw it when I tried a google search for any reports of our 6 cyl. having this issue outside of TW.

    Mine sounds aliitle like that in the morning. Ill have to check it out from the outside of the truck. Pretty sure mine is just piston slap. Miss my 2008 FJ had the same motor as our trucks but didnt have the valve tick or sound like shit in the mornings.

    Wow. It does seem like this noise could be pretty common-- I have no idea what percentage of the trucks it could be--but even as little as 1% would be significant. My dealer said that they'd never heard or dealt with the noise before--they definitely didn't say that it was normal, and toyota authorized the repairs. Now the noise is a ghost of its former self...

    Man I'm stumped!

    You and me both!, with one gone after oil changes, another with a re-flash and another with a bunch of stuff done to it and it persists I don't know wtf to think.....

    Also, if the video above is in fact a 2011, and if this is proven to be an actual problem (we don't know the cause yet), it scares me that Toyota hasn't done anything since 2011....
