Selling my Backflip Fibermax for my DCLB. Will fit 05-14 tacoma. It has one little nic, but no leaks! The difference between the G2 and Fibermax, The only difference is that the top surface of the FiberMax is made from an impact resistant Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP), rather than aluminum. It is a lot stronger! Works great, just going to buy a canopy. Local PU only. Seattle, WA. Selling for $400. Let me know!

    Mitch, tablets -
If you want a portable laptop that doubles as a tablet, surface pro is phenomenal. The new keyboard is like a laptop keyboard so no loss there. It has horsepower equal to a midgrade laptop with a full fledged i5 processor. You can also dock it and get external monitors. Drawback is app support still sucks.
Get an actual tablet if you want app support. I bought a nexus 7 myself paired with a seidio case (typing on it now). Its half the price or better compared to iPad, so no brainer. Helps that its great hardware. I don't care for the Samsung offerings, they re bloaty.

Jason - from what I know, you need a special tool for the tranny due to its sealed design. You can do a portion yourself with normal tools, but it isn't a complete flush.

Zach - the video of the jeep is my general view of California and Florida - douchebags, plastic, and sun.

I read up on the thing. It isn't really a jeep, it is only 2wd, and the hull is some special material that was hardened up more for this than it would be for a boat to give it better rigidity for driving. It has a Honda v6 motor and the transfer case spins power from the wheels to a jet drive like what jetskis have. The frame is chromoly steel rather than carbon steel. It is held up by a long travel suspension.

I could see some Floridian or Californian douche taking it into the ocean, not rinsing it off, then complaining because the exposed metal is rusting out too fast.

What would be fun is playing tug with it. Hook up with a chain from my truck to one of these things, and see who pulls who. I am pretty sure my little 4 cylinder truck would win due to weight, since my truck weighs more.

That's badass. Before joining I used to always run outside and gawk at the Chinooks flying low over my house... I still think birds are just so wicked cool--- maybe I'll get to fly one someday

I plan on doing a full flush once I get my truck running again.

This thread is a great how-to.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/68462-diy-full-flush-automatic-transmission.html

It is pretty straight forward, drain and fill until the new fluid is cycled through and clean. This should cycle the fluid through the cooler too, just keep track of how much you drain and add.

The hardest (or most critical) part is getting your truck into the proper "Temp Check" range, which can take some time with the aux. cooler.

Let us know how it goes when you do yours, and I will do the same when I get mine done

I got some corned beef cooking and the house is smelling great for it. Picked up a piece from cash&carry that is about 4 times the size of the little pieces available in a grocery store, cut it in half and put it all in a 4 gallon stockpot.
After I change the oil in the truck, I will make a run to the store and pick up some cabbage and a Henry .22 rifle. Small podunk towns have their benefits to having everything in 1 store.

Droving home from Seattle right now. Actually riding and letting the wife drive. But got 19.6mpg up to Marysville and back to Olympia. Not bad. Pumped the tires up to 50psi for the trip. Seems to have helped

i run my tires about 40 psi all the time. having the extra pressure does make a difference for being onroad, except in snow. I rode the STP a couple times. first time i had hybrid tires, slick center with knobby corners, that were designed to go up to about 60 psi. second run, i used specialized fatboys, which are a full slick, a bit bigger than road bike tires, and designed to run up to 100 psi. that helped out a bit more.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
My stock piece of craps are at 31psi. Max on the side says 35. They aren't in great shape so I don't feel like pushing too much air
