You should cut it across like this and make a slanted plate bumper that is flush to the back of the frame so it can kind of act like a rear skid, with wrap-around plate of course haha. I think it would be unique.

That's what I'm debating right now lol. I'm going to have to sleep on it...

I do like the idea of the slanted bumper though. I had that idea in my brain at the beginning of the "chop thought" but everyone does that!! I kinda want to do something different.

Here's a thought Brent....Picture from your yellow line down box liner'd black. Then the old hitch crossbar cut down to fit IN BETWEEN the frame rails!? It keeps everything hidden up super high, and I'd still be able to pull my trailer haha. Yay, Na?

It's kind of hard to picture it with below the tail lights still red. I think once it's black like the rest of the rocker panels, and the hitch bar tucked up in between the frame it'd look pretty good. Simple and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a bunch of cold rolled 3/16 plate haha.

Thanks James and Paul! James, do you have any 3/16" square tube kicking around?

Tanner, what kind of bedliner did you use in your truck. I'm messing with the flare but if it doesn't turn out right in going the bedliner route

I used the dupli color stuff in the 1 gallon can. It comes in a kit that you have to mix yourself. Rubber bits, hardener, and the black solution. I can attest to how durable that stuff is. I went through 2 flap disks trying to remove it from my rocker panels before welding.

And it doesn't fade which is nice. Stays 100% black

Nice.. I got sweated by the cops about tires sticking out too far. Said I was right on the line. If the flares turns out like shit then I'm going to bedline. I only drive it once or twice a month.

What's the final measurement of the bed? Have you ever seen a dc bobbed?

It's such a stupid law if you ask me. Like...if your following to close to have rocks being thrown back at you, then you should probably use your head and back off a little. What's the difference between a bob tailing semi cruising down the highway without a trailer and are trucks. They don't have ANY tire protection lol.

    Just frustrates me...

I will get the final measurement after I finish my coffee and newspaper haha. Moving pretty slow today, yesterday was a long day of cutting and welding
