Do you have more up close pictures? Maybe there is something funky going on with yours. I have never seen one do that. (not that I've seen a million of them)

Just got my email back from soft topper.

    Good news

1 zipper totally replaced 25 dollars
    2 zippers replaced 35 dollars
    I pay shipping both ways,
    Or
4 dollars for each zipper and I can take it to someone local and have them sew it on.

Decisions, decisions. Good thing I live at the beach, lots of boat places around sew canvas, that and a few tubes of seam sealer and I'm back 100%

    Me too
    " Hi Brandon,

No, we're not aware of any way to alter the color of the vinyl coating.

The coating is colored before it is applied to the fabric backing.

You might want to try RaggTopp vinyl cleaner and protectant. *That may brighten it up a bit.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you,

    Softopper"

Thanks man! I've had it since early Jan and weather just made it impossible to take a whole day to paint this thing lol

I love the way it ties my Old man Tan/Black theme together...

Just outta curiosity would a softopper off a second gen fit a first gen bed? In terms of width anyway? I saw a couple for sale on craigslist and was just kicking it around. I may be taking a trip to Colorado in the next couple weeks so I might have to pick one up from the guys at Softopper :D

I have clamps for both, even though the 1st gen is more narrow it still should fit, I think the website says 98-current

Alright whoever has a double cab second gen Taco with the Bestop Supertop. Can you take measurements on the frame portion that sits on the bed rails? Curious if it'll fit a 1st gen double cab :D Most of the pictures I've seen, the Bestop doesn't sit flush with the outer edge on the bed rail so it might just work on 1st gens.
