Well god dammit anyway... not only is my transmission ready to blow any day now, but I slid under the truck to try and get a picture of something for another member just to find out that my pass side CV has grenaded. Bad. Ass.

Just checked the other side... looks like it is starting to weep as well. Guess I'll be buying two instead of one.

Yeah that doesn't exactly look like the grease I have from my torn boots... I literally have half an inch of straight up grease coating everything from just a tiny slice in my CV boot...

Your stuff is too liquidy... Unless you got water in the boot that is not leaking out.

Definitely grease... The boot is split right at the axle. Oil won't pool up like that.

New axles ordered from CVJ Axles... Should be here in a couple days. Hopefully the truck holds up until then. Now to make a few phone calls to see if I can get my transmission looked at... All I can say is thank god for my tax return! Looks like I might be needing all of it

Part of the deal is that I send them back the cores and they give me back some of my money... Unless you can offer me a reason to sell them to you instead lol

Driver side is so easy. Been done with that one in no time. I had a much harder time with the passenger side. Hopefully yours will be much easier.

Does anyone make a good tool for pulling those suckers? haha Like maybe the Toyota techs have some cool tool? I usually use a pry bar and sometimes it goes smooth and sometimes its a bitch... Like last time when I rebooted both sides... It took two of us with pry bars to get both sides out. We even gave it a few turns to make sure the c-clip wasn't down and stopping us.

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
found the same thing a couple of weeks ago bot reverse the sides. was helping someone put in a new front diff, and i popped the passenger side out with a 2 foot pry bar on the first shot with minimal force. took two of us with larger pry bars and sledges to get the drivers side off :notsure:
