Wow. Went to KBB.com, my truck private party sale is worth $24,479.

Paid $27,462 base
+399 theft protection
+499 dealer prep
+1134 taxes
-1000 factory rebate
=$28594 OTD

$4115 depreciation in two years, not bad . . . . . Too bad I wasn't good enough negotiator to get the dealer to pay for the theft protection and dealer prep. Would have only had $3217 loss.

And if you look at the base price only, the loss is only $2983.

 

The dealer is going to hose you anyway.

No trade in and I just told him I would make a deal with him if he would sell it for 30k he said I can do that and I told him I would give him a call soon. After I buy it I will let you know what dealership dont want it to slip out of my hands He nor I specified if it was OTD w or without taxes, but I have two other dealerships I am going to see what they can do if better.

Well than, it's not OTD if it doesn't include tax (hence, out the door means exactly that).
