Yeah, I was confused because I don't know film super well and the lines on the darker second photo kind of threw me off as a "digital pattern" yet they looked so much like film ha looks good to me!

Ya, and Tri-X was not typically quite that grainy.
The 400 ASA color films of the late 70s were, but the B&W film was always much finer unless the ASA was "pushed" in processing (I used some 1600 ASA to shoot Hale-Bopp and had the lab push it to 3200).

It was bright (as expected). PP in LR5. Lots of clarity and low highlights, high in the shadows. Bump in sharpening and noise reduction. masking wasnt effective to keep the whole thing in focus. Not as clean as I would like. Im waiting for the sky to clear here (Just had a cyclone rip by) so I can try again with the mirror locked and on concrete

    Thanks

Took me some time to learn which extenders to get. Since my camera focus at center up to F8 and my lens was 2.8 (400mm) I can effectively add both the 2.0X and 1.4X and still have AF. Not that it matters since it needs very little adjustment at that distance anyways. Pretty much at infinity

With Canon- you can only stack the II extenders and not the III. So I bought the 1.4 III before knowing this but fortunately, the 2.0 II can work as long as its behind the lens and then the 1.4 followed last by the camera.

    Its easy-
    • When exporting- click on edit watermark in the drop down at the watermark section.
    • Click on the watermark title you wish to edit/ change in top left
    • Once you change your settings, click back on the upper drop down menu that lists your watermark title
    • At the bottom- click on the "Update Preset"- bam done :)

My lens is quite a bit tighter... and f/10 with one extender.
I tried just going to infinity and it wasn't quite there.

Going to try again in the morning, but won't be stacking two TCs.

But.... my Tamron 200-500 with both of my TCs stacked, I could not go all the way into 500 without the moon being taller than the frame.

Two TCs could be fun if I can dial the focus in.

    Thanks!

The softer photo with the pilings in the foreground was 25mm F8.0 10 seconds iso 100

The photo with the long light reflections was 40mm F8.0 13 seconds iso 200

It took over two hours to get the two shots without airplanes coming in over the city. It would have been easy to edit the light trails out of the sky, but the reflection of the landing lights in the bay wrecked every other shot.

The biggest challenge with the E-M1 I'm facing is heavy graining and noise above 15 second exposure times. There is a "noise reduction" function that takes an equally long exposure after each shot and does a very good job of eliminating the noise for the longer exposure shots but it takes twice as long to take each shot. Higher iso settings also lend more manageable noise, but didn't offer the longer exposure times I was looking for given the bright moonlit night. The learning continues!

Here's one more I could have submitted for the challenge, but took it yesterday after I had already submitted! After I took this shot the biker came over to my buddy's RV where we were tailgating and had a PBR with us :)

    Quick question.....

Just picked up my D7000 with 50mm 1.8 lens. Love it!
But when I put my 18-55mm kit lens on, it won't auto focus. My 55-200mm lens does autofocus, which is weird. Any ideas on why this isn't autofocusing?
