From 199X (when introduced ...) through 2004 the electric locker was not available on any 4-cylinder automatic - either with the TRD package or as a separate option.

As of 2001, the locker (as part of the TRD package) was specifically excluded for all 4-cylinder PreRunners and 4-cylinder automatic 4X4 XtraCabs.

The spec / options listings don't exclude the possibility of getting the locker with the TRD package on a 4-cylinder manual 4X4 XtraCab.

As a separate option, the locker was available only on V6 models (both 4X4 and PreRunners) by 2004.

However ... The 2001 and 2002 listings leave open the possibility of getting the locker as a separate option on Regular Cab 4X4's (4-cylinder) with manual transmissions.

By the end of the 2001 - 2004 era, the locker was only available on V6's. At the beginning (at least the first two years), it was not ruled out for one or two 4X4 models.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

Yeah, it was the first one (and only one) I was able to locate. To tell you the truth, I never needed the locker.

Right - no pre-2005 Double Cabs with manual trannies (at least not from the factory).

Given the way Toyota bundled certain options, it was impossible to get certain combinations or individual items from the factory.
