well, not all of us are like you lol. Mine isn't gonna get wheeled that much when i'm working gazillion hour weeks and living in a city where the closest trails are 2+ hours away and as much as im concerned about function, i like some bling and i want it to look cool seeing as ill have to look at it more than i'll drive it. its not about getting laid, its just about person preference and being able to go out and look at my truck and being like damn i love the way it sits. different strokes different folks

I agree with the function over form most of the time. However, I'm the type to look at my truck 5 times as I walk away after parking it, because I love the way it looks, cmon we've all done it lol {minus not having bigger tires yet}.

    What haven’t I changed?
I do the same thing. Apparently it's so obvious that my wife just rolls my eyes when she sees me doing it.

I always am like "I love my truck, it's a nice truck." And she's like "Yes babe, it's a nice truck." She likes the truck a ton more than my old bimmer. She said the truck is more "me" vs. the bimmer.

And I agree about function over form etc, but it's nice to really like your stance too. There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve the overall look. Most people don't really need a lift, or large quantities of aux lighting, or new wheels but that doesn't stop them from getting them.

I just never understood putting tires that are so large on a truck that it causes poor performance and heavy modifications for zero real world advantages. Looks are based off opinion so they will always be different.

If I'm at a truck show (Toyota Holeman for example) I voted for the trucks that actually got used. Not the ones that had 30k in brand new bolts ons and no rock rash on the wheels because they were never used for their "built" purpose. 1/2 the DB's there had their suspension cranked up so high so they could look cool lifted that their CV's would grenade if they actually used 4x4.

I give zero respect for mall crawling garage queens. IMO they make people who use their trucks look bad. If it weren't for them and the poor education system I wouldn't have the DB pumping my gas ask me "is this truck for looks or does it go offroad?".

    :D

I like my truck for where it get's me and the fun I have in it. Do I get off on having it look cool? yea, but cool to me is very different from other people's cool.... otherwise I wouldn't be rocking steel wheels I spray painted "Rustoleum Industrial Grey". To me function is cool....if form effects function negatively it's stupied.

and I actually do like lowered trucks..... even 4x4's :D

I'm talking about having a good middle ground between capability and looks. I'm perfectly happy to wheel my truck - and i do when i can, but i dont want it to become a total trail rig, i dont think that makes me a poser in the least. I like bling and i like things that do shit.. hence why i listened to you guys and am ponying up for some skids which add about 0 coolness factor, but are great to have for wheeling. I'll post up pics of my rocker panels from... rocks, the body damage i have neglected to fix that would all be fixed immediately if it impeded function, but its just aesthetic damage and its just gonna get worse when i wheel it
and instead spent my money on stuff that makes the truck more capable.

You just described the majority of my friends. They all have pretty cool trucks, but to waste thousands of dollars on a truck that sits in garage 11 months out of the year and is lucky to get 200 miles a year put on it just seems silly. Then for them to bust my stones telling me I ruining a new truck by taking it in the woods and using it. I want something that is functional first and looks can come later.

Exactly. If I cared so much about looks I wouldn't have put the brand new pin stripe I put on my hood this past weekend.
