Except I was back there and I don't remember seeing any of my rig actually climbing anything.

Mike, how long is "a bit"? I am not good with how a broken part sounds. Maybe ball joint? Do you still have the factory skid on there? I picked up a ton of rocks in mine when I still had it and they rattled like crazy. Didn't sound like it was coming from there, but still helped when I took it off and all the stuff came falling out.

I don't have the factory skid on anymore.
The noise has been going on for a few months, it's worse now.
    I don't think it's a ball joint.
It doesn't drive any different than before it started.

    Awesome Spotter! :D

does it do it regardless of the way the wheels are turned? I know I had a bad pop on my 92 but it was only when the wheels were cranked hard to driver and I hit a bump... turned out it was a steering stop that lost it's "cap" so it was metal on metal but sounded like a pop.

LOL well were were thinking along with the last 10-15 seconds of the video :p

if you are stopped... and rock the truck... does it do it?

I have no idea what it may be, just trying to help narrow it down. :(

It does it no matter what way the wheels are.
I haven't tried to rock it when stopped yet. I didn't even think about doing that, I will try it this week. Thanks for the idea.

    Working on it.
You were good. I still dont know how I made it up without a spotter and on the 1st try with small bald ass tires at 25psi.

Same here. Barely hit at all on the frame.

I took a huge chunk out of my left rear tire. Thats it.

I work the next 4 days but after that can swing by and take a look. Also swap your tires back if you want.

Yeah I didn't even air down and made it up open/open with AT's! pretty proud of my truck and me... I'm sure it had very little to do with the driver.. truck just needs someone to hold the skinny pedal down and I was willing:D

yeah found a nice grove in my passenger rear looked and there's a bit of metal sticking out from just inside the front of the rear fenderwell... on full stuff it cut in... gotta clip that shit quick:eek:

anyways... here are my pics... got a few... just gotta remember to clean the damn lens first!:mad:

Oh please don't mind the editing... I like to F around in Lightroom to make up for my shitty photography skills

The PO didn't know, but the muffler says V-Force on it... and he said he knew it was chambered like the flow master, he said it sounded better he though than the flow master, but was less expensive.

I like the sound myself... so I'm happy with it. nice rumble but not overly obnoxious.. course I wasn't standing outside the truck when I used a whole lot of skinny pedal to get up those obsticals so... you probably have a better take on how it actualy sounds as you were behind me for the majority of the day

quick google search got me this... http://www.flopro.com/vforce.html
but I don't know which model...

Cool trip, I need to make it down to that area and run those trails at some point. Any really challenging sections, or is most of it like the pics, ie. sandy trail with a few rock sections?

Hi, my name is Mike. That's my 4Runner with my daughter and I inside. Thank you for taking and posting that picture. I found your forum from here: Anyway we tried to tag along. We didn't make it to Rudy's till 9:20 so we missed you all there. I didn't know I-25 sucked so bad in CS, had to slow down a lot for the f'd up grooves cut in the pavement. We caught up to your group at the Cedar Mountain Road OHV parking area but you guys took off just as we started to air down. We caught back up at the begin of Hacket. We were behind the Xterra. I didn't know everyone was on channel 13 until the Jeeps came up and told me.

Somebody spotted me up Hacket Rock. Sorry my window was up, I have a stripped regulator and I just bolted the window up last summer after my truck got stolen when someone forced the window down. Was the spotter in your group? He did a great job spotting us, thank you.

Those guys were all right for Jeepers and they did have a Raptor and a pretty bad Rover with them too. Also there was a FZJ80 following them with his Jeep friend. The Land Cruiser belonged to a Rising Sun member which is the forum I use. They invited us into their caravan and we finished Hacket with them.

Thank you to the event organizers. It's hard to find anyone to wheel with, none of my friends have 4x4's, just hot rods. I hope we can run with you all more some day, seems like a nice group as long as you don't mind my non-Tacoma Toyota.

Mike, so sorry we didn't wait for you! Had no idea you were trying to run with us. Your runner is bad ass! My bro and I were jealous. Exactly what we want to build together. Clean, simple, classy. Run with us anytime!

I don't know who was your spotter I was the guy in the flannel spotting everyone else but since I took this pic I wasn't the one spotting...

BTW 1st gen runners are my all-time favorite Toyota truck... Yours was damn nice. And as far as I'm concerned (just joined) you're welcome on any trip I'm on.
