    Im trying to paint the trd emblem white but when I put the adhesion promoter, it gets bubblie.. why is that?? what should I use?? I dont like it gunmetal, i want it to be white :)... any ideas or options ??

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Try sanding it lightly and then cleaning it. I would do a test run first incase it doesn't work.

    I just taped off the TRD portion and painted them black. Left the flags the black chrome. Sorry i don't have any pics of where taped it off. All are after pics.

    Just cleaned it as best i could, then sprayed it. They have been on for 3 months. No chips or anything. Easy fix if it does!

    don't use thinner. just something that won't hurt the plastic but will rid the emblem of dirt and grease.

    i wouldnt use acetone, depending on the type of plastic used, it could eat through it. Im not sure if it would or not, but not worth the risk unless someone else has done it before

    you should be fine degreasing it and painting it right away. Its not a large part to be painted so you should be fine

    If you don't have that then any household spray cleaner (like windex) should work the get the grease off. Once you clean it, do not touch the surface you want to paint with your bare hands.

    go get some Goo-Be-Gone or Goop at the local home depot or home improv store.. Rub some on there to get the grease off, then go ahead and clean it and scrub it good.

    You should be fine aftertaht.
