    The one guy just barely bought his 1st gen so he hasn't put any money into it yet except the boggers (though it was built up some when he got it). Caleb's pathcrawler is a cheap backyard built crawler on 40's. A winch might be the most expensive thing on it if he got one. I've dumped all my money into suspension so no winch in the budget anytime soon. Casey is... well Casey... He is wheeling on 31's and a mini-spooled rear on a beat to shit 4runner with a 3.slow...

    And while a winch would be nice, I have yet to be in a situation where a tow strap and hi-lift haven't got us out.

    that situation..would have got you all out a hellll of a lot fast and safer and less wear and tear on all your rigs..

    just saying..

    they aren't even that expensive anymore. can get a decent on for under 500 bucks. hell..some maxtrax would have worked the best i bet.

    but whatever haha least you all got out. I hate snow as well..

    Maxtrax would have been nice for certain spots, but no way they would get you the 1/4 mile or so up the hill...Winch would have been handy, but again you would have needed well over a 1000ft of strap. For the most part abusing the rigs was the best option... well after not dropping your dumbass so far into the trail without thinking about the fact that you have to go back up the fucking hill!!:frusty: All in all I kind of had fun and feel pretty good about my rig in the snow again :D

    So... I'd have to have somebody watch, but my rig gets really chattery in the snow every since I did the SUA conversion... I don't know if it is a design flaw by DMZ or an install error, but I seem to have squat rather than anti-squat in the rear. This is just going by feel and my experiences in the snow. I'll have to get someone to film me getting on it in the snow and seeing what actually happens or get a go pro setup to watch my rear work.

    got bike together, excited to ride it. fire it up...mother fucker starts gushing oil from the cam shaft cover


    fuck me sideways its never ending. didnt do this before...something had to have happened when i replaced the gasket/seal. it wasnt the seal, that looked good and no oil on the front of the cover. only guess is it has to do with that little port at the bottom but i dont know what :frusty:

    also, oil gushing was just a simple o ring, got that fixed. now im pretty sure my right side carb has a stuck jet/needle because it leaks fuel when the bike isnt running and it dies over and over when its trying to idle, my guess is its flodding the engine so it cant run right.

    HOW DID I FUCKING KNOW YOU WOULD BE HERE SAYING THAT

    I was under the impression the po did more to the engine than i though, repair wise. not the case. so i went through and did a number of things on my own. half expected it when i began this project, but maybe not to this extent.

    really not a big deal in the end. just little things. like the oil leak was just a dry rotted o ring, carb issue is a stuck float, shouldnt take too long to fix. just the constant little things back to back is frustrating, like how most projects go

    you need to remember to put in fuel treatment in the fall so that shit doesnt happen in the spring.
