Hey guys! Been almost a month I got my 09 Taco! I love my truck but I have had nothing but problems with the dealer! This is the second vehicle I have purchased from them, the first being a 10 Corolla. The guy I worked with before was off so I dealt with a different person. I was interested in my Taco, but wanted to shop first. The guy ran my credit without telling me(guess they saved from the first purchase). So, I became discouraged and left. Only reason I went back is because I really liked the truck. The next problem I have is they offered me $1425 for my old truck and when they wrote the paper work they shorted me $225 and wouldn't fix it. Lastly, I was told I would get the proper manual and the proper mats from my truck. Well, he goes to "get them" while I signed the paper work. When I get to the truck, I see black TRD mats from an 05 and a manual from an 05(the other used Taco they had on the lot). I told him I wanted the proper mats and he said too bad I signed the paper work. The manager wouldn't acknowledge me to even complain. I called Toyota corporate who told me they would work with the dealer and that the dealer would call me. It had been a week, so today I called Toyota back, Apparently the dealer told them we talked and I agreed to the 05 ones. BS!

Anybody have any suggestions on what to do? I know its only mats and its not a big deal, but I HATE being lied to! Plus, my interior is beige and these mats are black. It doesn't even match.....the salesperson suggested I just "Stop being cheap and buy new ones." It isn't even that, if he would have said "Hey, we don't have the mats from yours, but we have them from an 05 is that okay?" I wouldn't have even been mad, but don't tell me I get something and then try to pass something else over on me.

You can always ask to speak to the manager or his boss and explain the situation. I'm not sure how old you are but if you are young and timid salesmen will try to take any advantage they can get.

    cjl,

I JUST got off the phone with Day regarding the spare tire carrier lift plate. I had them replace it via TSB about two weeks ago. Went to put on my spare tire this weekend (ya I know, should have sooner) and realize the lock cylinder that the key fits into is not there, just the part that looks like you could stick a flathead in and turn it.

I am interested to see what happens next (waiting on the second person to call me back as the "service organizer or w/e they call themselves" put me to the service "leader" for my repair. Wish she would have just seen if he was at his desk before transferring me.

I gave good reviews on the survey but now am disappointed.

a recap of the first time I dealt with them for the frame TSB. Had them look at it and they said they would schedule the appointment. I needed a "loaner" vehicle while they had mine for two days so they "put me on the list" since they had high demand apparently. waited for months to get a call, never happened. So I called another dealership and they had me in by the end of the week with an Enterprise rental waiting (they drove me to the lot).

again, waiting to see what happens from the call back to formally judge the experience.

I need to go to your dealership!
I did speak to the manager and was told "thats the higher person we have here." I am 25 and was decent about it, but this situation is bs. Toyota customer service sent them a message to contact me to work this out. She told me to give them one buisness day to fix it, but if they don't I think I am going to call up my local news. I am sure I am not the first person they have tried to skip out of stuff.

    Frizzman,

When I bought the Corolla from them I had a similiar situation with the mats. At that point, he went to get mats. I guess they just take out the mats when they get a used vehicle. I am sorry you are having a hard time with them. The reason I went to them first is because I bought my Celica from Uniontown Toyota and that experience was terrible. I bought the car, they went to "wash" it and brought it out with different tires and rims.....needless to say I will never go back. The first 2010 Corrolla I got was from Uniontown Toyota and we were told we could go back for free inspections, which was also a lie. The last local Toyota dealer thats within 45 miles would be Greensburg. I love Toyotas, but these dealers suck!

Yeah, I agree George. Thing is they won't fix it and Toyota won't step up because its an "independent" dealership.

You can always ask to speak with the owner of the dealership or at least research and send him a letter and explain how you were treated. I wouldn't quit until I tried every avenue to get what was agreed upon.

My biggest complaint would be this in bold ^^^ I don't think the laws have changed, but perhaps they have. The laws that I remember state that they cannot run your credit without a signature, and your permission. You can sue over that.

Just some info for you, ALL dealerships are pretty much independent. Toyota simply allows them a franchise license. The problem is, Corporate Toyota can really only pressure them on new vehicle sales, or Toyota Certified used vehicles. Other used vehicles, or Toyota used vehicles that are not "certified" are not really overshadowed by the corporate umbrella.

I would call and complain to Toyota again, then contact the local news for sure.

I do need to look up the owner of this place. I am not stopping this is crazy. I told them I was pondering sueing over running my credit without my approval. I had left and went to go get dinner to think about getting the truck. My phone rang 3 times. I think I even had a voicemail saying "Hey, I ran your credit come back and we can close this with a good interest." Something of that effect. This is a certified truck. I am going to keep pressuring them. They are just worried about selling vehicles, doesn't matter how many lies you get told.
