If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
They're trying to pass legislature (HB 2795) in WA to allow a 95% Tax on "Non-Tobacco" alternatives right now - incl. E-Cigs. Greedy ass Democrats keep trying to use the Sin Tax to fund their Education programs.

This is likely a windfall tax plan to counter their high tax on Cigarettes. Since so many people have quit smoking by switching to E-Cigs, they have lost potential tax revenue and are hoping to recoup their losses by creating more taxes.

Time to stock up on a gallon of nicotine concentrate and keep it in the fridge. They can't tax the devices that vape, unless they come preloaded with nicotine like the Blu, Njoy, etc. Tax those shitty things all they want. I assume for us custom vapers, they'll tax any juices with nicotine in them. No big deal unless it's a 500% tax or something stupid.

Well I bought my first batch of product to make some of my own. I ordered the 100mg nicotine in 100%PG, got 1 quart each of VG/PG kosher grade, bought a bunch of 1oz LorAnn flavorings, a 4oz bottle of sucralose sweetener, some 10ml syringes, dropper lids, etc. etc.

It should all get here between Friday and mid next week, so I'll probably start doing mixes the weekend after this one. Feedback to follow!

If I did my math right, and get a 13mg/ml nicotine yield, my per-ounce (30ml) cost for EVERYTHING is $3.55. That's a 60% cost savings if I can get it right.

I wonder if you did your math right... I expected a much higher savings, like say 90%

Maybe I didn't do my math right.....
    where did you order from?

Yes. You just buy the VG, the PG if you want to blend, and the flavoring.

Just a quick google search turned up this site. Probably better quantities available elsewhere:

about time. its a strange thing when you see someone invest so much time in being an asshole. cohbstaco, most juice companies sell premade juices with 0mg nicotine. I usually buy 6mg and dilute it to about 4mg with VG to make bigger clouds and still get a buzz.

Well, they passed the (substitute) bill in WA

75% Tax on the sale of E-Cigs, unless the FDA approves them as a smoking cessation aid, and it is prescribed by a physician and purchased at a pharmacy.

If the grommets helped then cool, but all my kanger tanks leak and gurgle like yours, i found you have to draw hits very very softly or the liquid floods all up in the wick, using the Aspire dbc tanks hit way better and mine have never leaked yet even when suckin hard on it (that sounds really gay i know)

Already received my 1 liter of VG and PG, 4oz of sucralose sweetener, and a big order from LorAnn's is set for delivery today. My 100mg nicotine concentrate shipped yesterday, so it looks like I'll have some playing around to do this weekend.

edited: LorAnn's flavorings shipment just got here. I can start mixing tonight to play with flavors, then when the nicotine gets here I'll be ready to add it in.

Did some mixing of my own juices this weekend after receiving the concentrate nicotine on Friday. I have to say I had some great success so far. Looks like I'm done with buying overpriced juices from websites and smoke shops once and for good. A couple flavors vaped great with only 24 hours of steeping (they had no ethyl alcohol in them), and a couple others are steeping for a week with open caps before I vape them due to the alcohol in the flavor concentrates.

I successfully replicated the "energy drink" flavor and was able to dabble with adding some enhancements to it. Also finally made a caramel/butterscotch that has the flavor/sweetness I've been wanting. It's my daily vape so it was the most important one to make.

Can't wait to get some more flavorings ordered so I can start experimenting with some new ideas.

Ooh I like the look of that. I'm a big fan of a side button, too. I stand my vapes up on my desk or in my cup holder in the taco and I don't want to deal with a lock on the bottom button on most mods. Just another thing to fail IMO.

Are you running a clone or an original?

It's going to depend on the State and the place. Some states are regulating it like cigarettes. I work at a Federal facility and the e-cig vapers are supposed to use the designated smoking areas. Since there's no smell though, if you have a private office or your co-workers don't care, there's probably not a big chance to get caught unless you're blowing huge vapor. Airports and airlines are usually regulated like cigarettes.

PHX Sky Harbor airport still allows vaping within the terminals, believe it or not. I still don't have the gall to vape out in the open in the terminals, but I do go into a bathroom stall and secretly vape in-terminal or in the airplane bathroom. I just blow it into my shirt and it captures most of the vape particles and doesn't set off any detectors. I've tried to set of my smoke detector at home with direct vape blown right on it, and it never goes off.

I'm expecting my vapes to be banned from my office any day now. All the non-smokers are in an uproar but my HR department is sticking up for us e-cig users.

    Custom juice update

So since this weekend, I've conquered very tasty mixes of the following flavors:
    Bubble gum
    Caramel
    Strawberry energy drink
    Butterscotch

I am now vaping only my own juice. I know EXACTLY what all of the ratios are (my nicotine is certified from 2 different labs), so I know I'm getting the proper dosage of nicotine. The flavor balance is pretty easy now that I have the hang of common ratios. My PG, VG and sucralose sweeteners are all kosher food grade and fresh, so I know what I'm vaping.

Toffee is a great flavor but it's really hard to get rid of the alcohol taste from the raw flavoring. It really has to steep for a long time with the cap off. After 3 days of steeping, it's a bit better but still strong. Caramel is nice and smooth, and Butterscotch is probably the smoothest.

Up next: Buttered popcorn and strawberry cheesecake.

That's awesome and I want to try it myself. It'd be great to get some starter recipes from you, but all your flavors sound disgusting to me

What are you using to measure and mix the various liquids?
