Rode a motorcycle for the first time today. 97 CBR 900r.

Didn't help me with wanting to get one... Haha

Only laid it on it's side once. Had been driving around fine for about 30 minutes. Came to a stop once sideways on an incline with the wind blowing against me and I just couldn't hold it up. Just barely scuffed the peg though.

If I get one it will not be a 900, something much more lighter haha

 

A 900 is a terrible bike to start out on unless you have dirt bike experience and lots of it. For you a 250,300, or 500 would be perfect and a 500 would probably suit you well for a while since youre so small

 

I know this haha trust me I've looked up info in the past. I never planned to get a 900/1000 for a first bike.

A buddy of mine had just gotten it a week ago and wanted me to try it out, he wants me to get one haha

 

I'd suggest skipping to a 600. Personally I'm a lot more comfortable on it than I ever was on a 250. I do have a friend about your size that rides a zx10 so don't think you are too small for a bike. But I don't think I'll ever go past a 600 (for the street, track may be different). A 600 is plenty, although I wouldn't mind doing a supermoto for street riding either. Which you may enjoy more

 

Depending on your price range the CBR 500R just came out last year and its a great 500cc bike

I think I may do that if I ever retire my 600 for track use. Plenty of mid range torque, but highway riding isn't that great

Yeah, I never planned to get a 250. Always hear about people regretting it. The only good thing would be that I could get one fore cheap.

Has anyone replaced the factory bed rails with unistrut on their 2nd gens? I'm debating doing this, mainly because unistrut is stronger.
