$40 for 2 shocks. I think it could be cheaper by a little if they re-package everything though. i'm almost thinking they would fit in the long flat rate box.

I guess I'm too nice. My order kept getting pushed to the back cause other people were bitching about theirs. I told him to continue on my sliders, but I'm not gonna recommend him to anybody. They better impress me, and our standards for welding at pretty high. We go through a lot of welders at BAE cause they can't handle our QA.

i'm sure they would fit in that box. The only problem would be needing to re-pack the shocks. I doubt most places would do it.

Doubt it, but probably similar tho. I forget all the NAVSEA standard items, but it says welds must be uniform, no visible undercut, no spatter. They have to contour the welds and smooth out the ripples and valleys. No arc strikes anywhere. you guys probably TIG a lot more than our structural welders. I gotta try and see if I can get some pics of our welds. We replace massive sections of the shell and decking, and every inch of weld is ground and shaped, followed by a visual inspection of our QA and NDT inspectors, then on every inch of weld and 4 inches away from the weld gets either PT or MT tested. Sometimes UT. You guys are internal so you probably don't get scrutinized as much as we do since we are just a subcontractor. To Pearl Harbor, we are the bad guys :D

    ahh, yeah probably.

We have our own insepctors in house, but that just means the scrutinizing is very direct...if the weld looks like shit, they'll tell you to your face :D

Our NDT inspects the entire weld though so maybe our standards might be a little higher...at least where i'm at, we TIG pretty much everything so we get a lot of practice :)

Your welders have a night shift? :D

Yeah, we have night shift. They also inspect the entire weld, plus 4 inches away on the original material on both sides of the weld over the entire thing.

BTW, got more info on the stuck jeep at Kaena...
The info I got from a buddy, who's neighbor knows the driver personally. He was an army lieutenant, and the female passenger is an E-5. Driver died last week, and apparently his family will not be getting any death benefits because he was fraternizing and was considered trespassing since they were not on a designated road. That's why there were MPs investigating the scene. The girl is 40% brain dead, but family have not pulled the plug yet. My buddys neighbor said that nobody liked the guy tho. He was supposedly a dick with some dirty tactics of getting promoted. They are actually investigating more because they suspect it might be a suicide.
    Still unfortunate.
